    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for detecting position, and a touch panel using the same are provided. The apparatus for detecting position includes a frame, a plurality of first signal sources, a plurality of first signal receivers, a plurality of second signal sources, a plurality of second signal receivers, and a processor. The frame is comprised of a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, and a fourth portion. The plurality of first signal sources are disposed along the first and the second portions to emit the signals configured to detect a coordinate in a first direction. The plurality of first signal receivers are disposed along the third and the fourth portions, corresponding to the plurality of first signal sources, to receive the signals from the plurality of first signal sources respectively. The plurality of second signal sources are disposed along the first and the fourth portions to emit the signals configured to detect a coordinate in a second direction.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for generating driver signals of SAW touch panel. The method includes the steps of: sending a trigger signal continuously by referring to an input signal, wherein the trigger signal is sent when the input signal is within a predetermined range; generating a surface acoustic wave according to the trigger signal; transmitting the surface acoustic wave to at least one transducer via a touch surface; and detecting the input signal via at least one transducer. Moreover, the input signal is kept on a predetermined level when the surface acoustic wave has not been received by the transducer and when a noise signal from circuits outside the transducer has not been added in the input signal. The predetermined level is within the predetermined range. The sensing accuracy of the SAW touch panel can be enhanced because the noise signal has less effect on the driver signals.

    Abstract: In order to protect IMD layers, particularly low-k dielectrics, a protection film is formed on the sidewall of an opening in the IMD layers prior to etching a trench in the underlying silicon substrate. After etching the trench, such as through a TMAH wet etch, at least part of the protection film can be removed. The protection film can be removed in an anisotropic etch process such that a portion of the protection film remains as a sidewall spacer on the sidewall of the opening within the IMD layers.

    Abstract: A disposable thermometer probe sheath includes a bottom piece and a plastic cover film sealed onto the bottom piece. The plastic cover film comprising an upper plastic sheet film and a lower plastic sheet film, each of which has a front edge provided with an opening, a rear edge provided with a tip, and a sealed peripheral edge except for the opening, so as to receive a thermometer probe. The plastic cover film is made of a flexible and deformable material, while the plastic cover film is provided with two notches respectively formed on two side edges adjacent to the tip. The upper plastic sheet film is provided with a first flap attached to the opening thereof, while the lower plastic sheet film is provided with a second flap attached to the opening. When the thermometer probe is inserted into the plastic cover film, the notches are tightly engaged with the thermometer probe.
