  • Patent number: 6599385
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a multi-layer optical information record carrier, which has a plurality of layers of reflecting surfaces with pits for recording information. According to the method, a reflective layer is first coated on a stamper with a pit pattern. A radiation-setting adhesive polymer resin is then applied on a substrate with another pit pattern and coated with a partial reflective layer. The substrate and the stamper are combined together and the resin is cured by ultraviolet light. After peeling off the stamper, two reflective layers are formed on the substrate. Finally, two of the substrates are adhered together using polymer resin and one obtains a multi-layer optical information record carrier with dual information layers on both sides.

  • Publication number: 20030098119
Abstract: A production method of multi-layer information record carriers that involves forming a signal duplication layer on a substrate that contains signals, then replacing a metallic stamping plate with the substrate that comprises the signal duplication layer for manufacturing a signal layer of high molecular materials. After the signal layer has been subjected to curing by exposure to ultra violet light, the signal layer is separated from the signal duplication layer because of the difference between the adhesive forces of the different materials. Multi-layer information record carriers can be manufactured by repeating the manufacturing process. Since the manufacturing process of the invention is simple and speedy, it facilitates the creation of automated facilities for mass production.

  • Publication number: 20020145357
Abstract: A rotor bar cross-section and a rotor lamination slot define an asymmetrical shape divided into first and second sides about a longitudinally extending centerline, with the first and second sides being asymmetrical relative to the centerline. The first longitudinal side has upper and lower portions connected by a middle portion. The upper, middle and lower portions each include a respective point on the outer periphery of the bar located farthest from the centerline. These respective points define first, second and third distances between the respective points and the centerline, with the second distance being less than either of the first and third distances. The second longitudinal side has an upper portion directly connected to a lower portion. In certain embodiments, pairs of slots are arranged “face to face” to maintain the symmetry of the rotor lamination, even though the slots or bars themselves are asymmetrical.

  • Publication number: 20020124633
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for detecting and locating leaks in a pipeline. Pattern match filtering is used to reduce false alarm rate, increase sensitivity and improve leak location accuracy, while quickly detecting leaks by the acoustic signal generated from a leak event in pipelines containing gas or liquid under pressure. The pattern match filter technique detects a pressure wave generated by a leak, but discriminates against background noise and pressure disturbance generated by other non-leak sources that might otherwise be detected as a leak. The pattern match filter derives a sharp peaked output from the signal of the expansion wave which allows for a distinctive point of reference for a time stamp. This provides for improved accuracy in leak location calculations. The pattern match filter is incorporated into site processors located at multiple points along a pipeline, and at a central node processor which receives data from all site processors.

  • Patent number: 6389934
Abstract: A wrench includes a box end which has an elongated space defined therein and the space is defined by a periphery which includes two long sides and two short sides which are connected between the two long sides. The periphery is composed of two identical portions which are symmetrical about an axis P which passes through a mediate point on one long side and a mediate point on the other second long side. Each portion has three engaging surfaces for contacting three sides of a hexagonal object and three recesses for allowing corners of the hexagonal object being received during rotation of the box end. The box end may tighten or loosen the object without removing the box end from the object by engaging the object with either one of the two identical portions of the periphery.
