    Abstract: A system and method for identifying whether data skew is causing delays in a map phase and/or a reduce phase of a query of a distributed database. The system and method identify the values of various metrics relating to a database query. These metrics include map phase and reduce phase durations and various related metrics. The system and method gather statistics of multiple queries to determine correlation levels between the metrics and the map phase and reduce phase durations. Based on the statistics, the system and method determine whether one or both of the map and reduce phases for a query/response are taking longer than expected. If the durations are longer than expected, the system identifies the delay as caused by data skew and informs the originator of the query.

The semiconductor device includes a gate signal generator configured to produce two or more gate signals able to drive the two or more FETs. The gate signal generator has programmable timing configuration parameters to control operation of the two or more gate signals, wherein the timing configuration parameters are digitally programmed via a memory in the semiconductor device. The memory may be implemented with fuses, other non-volatile memory or volatile memory. The parameters may be fixed or updated during a lifetime of the apparatus. A serial-to-parallel conversion may be used to input the parameters. Optimization methods may be performed to determine parameters considered to be optimal. The apparatus may also include the power converter.

A geometry is constructed using the pixel in common. The geometry may be used to update a map or subsequently perform localization.

For each respective set of images, a disparity map based on the plurality of stereo images is obtained, data from the color image is fused onto the disparity map so as to generate a fused disparity map, and a three-dimensional fused point cloud is created from the fused disparity map. The respective three-dimensional fused point clouds is merged together so as to obtain a merged, fused three-dimensional point cloud. The techniques can be advantageous even under the constraints of sparseness and low-depth resolution, and are suitable, in some cases, for real-time or near real-time applications in which computing time needs to be reduced.

Protein having the amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ HD NO: 2 and mutants obtained by genetically engineering have higher catalytic specificity or significantly increased catalytic activity when compared to proline hydroxylases in prior art.
