    Abstract: A tactile display writer unit includes a probe having a contact tip, and at least a first actuator and a second actuator coupled to the probe, whereby activation of the actuators results in a displacement of the probe tip in one or more of a z-direction and in a lateral direction having a vector in an x-y plane. Also, a display writer includes a plurality of such units supported in an x-y array. The writer units may have a third actuator coupled to the probe. Also, a tactile vision system includes such a display writer, an image processor, and an image sensor. The processor transforms RGB image information from the image sensor into hue-based information having two or more attributes; and the actuators in the tactile display writer are activated by the information attributes.

    Abstract: A test method tests a memory device including a memory array having a plurality of symmetric memory cells, a plurality of word lines and a plurality of bit lines. In testing a first word line, a first bit line is charged to test a single bit of a first half of an adjacent first symmetric memory cell; and a second bit line is charged to test a single bit of a second half of an adjacent second symmetric memory cell. In testing a second word line, the first bit line is charged to test a single bit of the second half of an adjacent third symmetric memory cell; and the second bit line is charged to test a single bit of the first half of an adjacent fourth symmetric memory cell. In testing each of the word lines, each of the bit lines is charged once.

    Abstract: In a Surface-Enhanced Rama Scattering (SERS) substrate and the maufacturing method thereof, the SERS substrate includes a low thermal conductivity base and a plurality of metal nanoparticles (NPs). The surface of the low thermal conductivity substrate has a first surface, and the first surface has a plurailty of ripple micro/nano structures. The plurality of metal NPs are non-continuously densely arranged on the ripple micro/nano structures of the first surface. The metal NPs have a height difference along the ripple micro/nano structures, and form a 3D electric field enhanced region. The maunfacturing methods includes sputtering a metal nano-thin film on a surface of a low thermal conductivity base, and the surface of the low thermal conductivity base has a plurality of ripple micro/nano structures; using laser to ablate the metal nano-thin film; and forming a plurality of metal NPs, which are non-continuously densely arranged.

    Abstract: A color image patch for use with contact lens includes an attachment layer having one side for adsorbing to a surface of a contact lens, and an image layer connected to another side of the attachment layer and having an ornamental design provided thereon. Before wearing the contact lens, a wearer first selects a color image patch with favorite ornamental design and then attaches the attachment layer of the color image patch to the surface of the contact lens. The ornamental design on the image layer of the color image patch being adsorbed to the contact lens is located at a position corresponding to a wearer's iris and capable of changing the shape, size and color of the wearer's iris without influencing the vision correction function of the contact lens. Therefore, the color image patch gives the contact lens additional function and increased usefulness.

    Abstract: A calibration method for blood glucose of a blood sample includes steps of: applying a first voltage to a blood sample to obtain a first blood glucose level; applying a second voltage to the blood sample to obtain a second blood glucose level; applying a third voltage to the blood sample to obtain a hematocrit index of the blood sample; and processing the hematocrit index and calibrating the second blood glucose level. The third voltage is higher than the first voltage. Through this disclosure, user can obtain a sensing current corresponding to the blood glucose level and a hematocrit index corresponding to blood sample by applying at least three-stage voltages within specific ranges to the blood sample, and further calibrate the blood glucose concentration according to the hematocrit index.

    Abstract: A flyback power converter is disclosed. The flyback power converter includes a voltage transformer, a main switch, a synchronous rectification switch, a synchronous rectification control circuit, a sampling circuit and an operation circuit. A control end of the main switch receives a main switch signal so as to control the main switch. The synchronous rectification control circuit transmits control signal to control end of the synchronous rectification switch according to sensing signal received. The sampling circuit samples the state of the synchronous rectification switch so as to generate first logic signal and second logic signal. The operation circuit executes timing for charging/discharging according to the first and the second logic-signal, so as to output switch cut-off pulse signal to a voltage-dividing circuit. If voltage of the sensing signal is lower than predetermined threshold voltage, the synchronous rectification switch enters into cut-off state according to the control signal.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing color contact lens includes the steps of providing a rubber pad having a pressure bearing surface and filling C/M/Y/B coloring agents in a first inkjet printer; causing the first inkjet printer to jet the C/M/Y/B coloring agents on the pressure bearing surface of the rubber pad to form a color image layer; transferring the color image layer from the rubber pad onto an inner surface of a concave mold; injecting a lens material into the concave mold; pressing a convex mold against the concave mold to form a lens layer on the color image layer; and curing the color image layer and the lens layer to form a color contact lens. With the method, the color image layer can be formed using the inkjet printer without an increased thickness, enabling mass production of relatively thin color contact lenses at shortened time and lowered defect rate.
