Abstract: According to a method of controlling a refrigerator in accordance with the present invention, a refrigerating chamber and a freezing chamber are cooled at the same time, one and the other of the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber are cooled sequentially, and refrigerant recovery is then performed. Accordingly, upon initial start-up of a refrigerator, a temperature within each chamber can be cooled more rapidly through simultaneous cooling. Further, when a compressor is actuated again after being off, refrigerant can be supplied to each evaporator smoothly through a refrigerant recovery step. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that the cooling performance of a freezing cycle can be improved.

Abstract: A device and method for providing a user interface using information is provided. The device includes a display unit, a sensor and a controller. The display unit displays at least one graphic user interface (GUI). The sensor generate sa sensor signal according to a user's finger touch input. The controller receives the sensor signal from the sensor, identifies a touch area and an adjacent area based on the received sensor signal, generates touch finger shape-based information according to the identified touch area and the identified adjacent area, and controls the display unit to display the GUI according to the generated finger shape-based information.

Abstract: A handover method between heterogeneous networks is disclosed. A method for pre-configuration of an IP address allows a mobile terminal to perform a handover between heterogeneous networks. Methods for relaying messages for pre-configuration of IP address and a method for relaying messages for performing MIH based on pre-configuration of IP address are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for predicting the dynamics of a vehicle using information about the path on which the vehicle is travelling that has particular application for enhancing active safety performance of the vehicle, to improve driver comfort and to improve vehicle dynamics control. The method includes generating a preview of a path to be followed by the vehicle where the preview of the path is generated based on actual values of a plurality of vehicle parameters. The method further includes obtaining a corrected value of at least one of the plurality of vehicle parameters corresponding to the actual values of each of the plurality of vehicle parameters, wherein the corrected value of the at least one of the vehicle parameters is obtained based on a target path to be followed by the vehicle on the road, and wherein the target path is obtained on the basis of a plurality of road parameters.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for canceling a DC offset efficiently removes the DC offset by calculating the DC offset after acquiring synchronization in a terminal receiver used for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system. The apparatus for canceling the DC offset includes an adding/averaging unit (130), an accumulator (140), a synchronization determiner (150), and a pulse density modulation signal generator (160). The adding and averaging the added input data signals over one frame. The accumulator (140) outputs a DC offset control value by successively accumulating the DX offsets calculated from the adding and averaging unit. The synchronization determiner (150) determines whether to output the DC offset control value provided by the accumulator (140) based on synchronization information. The pulse density modulation signal generator (160) generates a digital pulse density modulation signal based on a representative value provided by the synchronization determiner (150).

Abstract: An apparatus and method for coding block boundary detection using interpolated autocorrelation is disclosed. Input video frames are processed to obtain a binary map of possible block boundary pixels including original and rescaled block boundaries. The boundary pixel map is converted to a boundary histogram. Then interpolated autocorrelation is applied to the boundary histogram to detect the block size and block size offset. The interpolated autocorrelation handles both integer sizes and non-integer sizes. A confidence measure is also determined that reflects the accuracy of the detection result. The output for the current video frame is also post processed with information from previous frames to provide better temporal stability.

Abstract: A method for forming a high tensile strength metal sheet (HTSMS), which is performed in a power press machine composed of a die, a punch and a blank holder, is disclosed. The HTSMS is placed between the die and punch with blank holder. A step portion appears at both an outer side of the punch and a pressing portion of the blank holder. The step portion is corresponding to a predetermined bent portion of the HTSMS. A step will be formed at an edge of the HTSMS by progressively pressing of the step portion to avoid recoil of the HTSMS after forming process.

An ejector opens and closes the opening and is rotatably provided at the opening to also eject ice from the ice bank. After completion of an ice discharging operation, a sensor senses a relative position of the ejector against the ice bank and the ejector is controlled to close the opening to the extent necessary.

Abstract: The present invention is related generally to embryonic-like stem cells isolated from adult human peripheral blood, designated herein as peripheral blood-stem cells (PB-SC), which display the characteristics of embryonic stem cells and hematopoietic cells. These cells have the capability of proliferation and are able to differentiate to other types of cells. These cells are, therefore, suitable for use in stem cell-based therapies, particularly autologous stem cell therapies, for the treatment of various diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, spinal cord damage, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, stroke and birth defects.
