  • Patent number: 7382718
Abstract: Disclosed is a transmitting and receiving method for reducing a time-varying channel distortion in an orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) system. In the present invention, the transmitter defines M sub-channels in one data group, mathematically analyzes a change of channel for each path causing a time-varying channel distortion in a high-speed mobile environment by approximation, calculates a weight value based on the mathematical analysis and assigns the calculated weight value to transmit data of each sub-channel. Subsequently, the receiver combines the signals of these M sub-channels and demodulates the combined signals. Accordingly, the present invention greatly reduces a distortion caused by the time-varying channel to improve a bit error rate and a channel estimation performance.

  • Patent number: 7382113
Abstract: The aim of this invention focuses on the development of a high-efficiency bidirectional converter for power sources with great voltage diversity. In traditional bidirectional converters, the circuit topology with transformer form is the common usual. Moreover, the soft-switching techniques including zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) or zero-current-switching (ZCS) are usually used for alleviating the corresponding switching losses. However, there are four and upward power semiconductor switches in these circuit schemes. By this way, it will result in the increase of production cost, and the degeneration of conversion efficiency. The coupled-inductor bidirectional scheme in the proposed converter only adopts three power semiconductor switches to accomplish the objective of bidirectional current control. Under the situation of non-isolation circuit topology, it still possesses the protection of electric safety for operators.

  • Patent number: 7382678
Abstract: A methodology is disclosed that enables the delay stages of an analog delay locked loop (DLL) or phase locked loop (PLL) to be programmed according to the operating condition, which may depend on the frequency of the input reference clock. The resulting optimized delay stages allow for a broad frequency range of operation, fast locking time over a wide range of input clock frequencies, and a lower current consumption at high clock frequencies. Better performance is achieved by allowing the number of analog delay stages active during a given operation to be flexibly set. The deactivation or turning off of unused delay stages conserves power at higher frequencies. The high frequency range of operation is increased by using a flexible number of delay stages for various input clock frequencies. Because of the rules governing abstracts, this abstract should not be used to construe the claims.

  • Patent number: 7382206
Abstract: In a voltage controlled oscillator, a resonant circuit generates a resonant frequency in response to a tuning voltage. A differential oscillator includes first and second transistors differentially cross-coupled to the resonant circuit. The first and second transistors supply energy to the resonant circuit to oscillate the resonant frequency from the resonant circuit, thereby generating first and second oscillation signals having a phase difference of 180 degree. Also, the first and second transistors adjust the first and second oscillation signals to a uniform level in response to a body bias voltage. In addition, an output level detector detects a level of the first and second oscillation signals from the differential oscillator and supplies the body bias voltage corresponding to the detected level to a body of each of the first and second transistors.

  • Patent number: 7382784
Abstract: An optical transmission network is disclosed that classifies digital broadcast channel data according to virtual channel connection (VCC) before transmission. In the optical transmission network, an optical signal receiver converts an optical signal from an optical line terminal (OLT) into an ATM cell that is classified according to the VCC. A VCC-based ATM cell classifier detects header information and a payload part from the classified ATM cell of each VCC. PID analyzers receive a payload part of an ATM cell corresponding to one VCC from the VCC-based ATM cell classifier, extract PID of each broadcast channel from digital broadcast channel data included in the payload part, and output specific broadcast channel data in the broadcast channel data included in the payload part. A switch receives broadcast channel data output from the PID analyzers and switches the received broadcast channel data to a broadcast channel desired by each subscriber.
