  • Patent number: 7366247
Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed for selecting a transmit antenna diversity scheme according to a variation speed of a fading channel in a mobile communication system. A user equipment (UE) estimates a channel response of a pilot channel by receiving a pilot channel signal from a Node B; estimates a variation speed of a fading channel by using the estimated channel response and determining a transmit antenna diversity scheme suitable to the variation speed of the fading channel; and transmits feedback information including the determined transmit antenna diversity scheme to the Node B, so that the Node B can determine a transmit antenna diversity scheme for a channel signal to be transmitted to the UE based on the transmit antenna diversity scheme information included in the feedback information. In this way, the Node B adaptively applies a transmit antenna diversity according to a channel condition.

  • Patent number: 7364516
Abstract: A golf swing exerciser uses two lengths of resistance cords or tension elements connected to an exercising handle so that one of the cords extends to an upper resistance region on a back swing side of the exerciser and the other resistance cord extends between upper and lower resistance regions on a back swing side of the exerciser. The cord from the upper resistance region resists downward movement of an exercising handle from a back swing region, and the cord extending between the upper and lower resistance regions resists lateral movement of the handle into a hitting region. The combined resistance of both cords significantly increases as the handle moves into the hitting region.

  • Patent number: 7365510
Abstract: In a method for measuring motor speed and position by detecting the back EMF generated during pole-pair interactions, a separate respective duration of a power phase suppression signal, that is set during back EMF detection, is stored in memory for each respective pole. The separate respective duration values are determined during a calibration phase by iteratively lengthening each respective duration one unit at a time (up to a maximum value) until no part of the respective back EMF signal occurs outside the suppression signal duration, and those values are stored. During operation, the approach of a pole-pair interaction may be determined from the electrical cycle of the power supply, and then the stored duration value is used to control the state of the suppression signal.
