  • Publication number: 20080093584
Abstract: This invention relates to an inhibitor of lead-induced stress corrosion cracking including nickel boride in the secondary side of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants and an inhibition method using the same, and more particularly, to an inhibitor of lead-induced stress corrosion cracking, in which nickel boride is added to secondary side cooling water of the steam generator in an amount of 0.2˜6 g/l, and to an inhibition method using the same. According to this invention, when the inhibitor of lead-induced stress corrosion cracking is added to the secondary side of the steam generator tube in nuclear power plants, stress corrosion cracking of the tubes, which occurs in the lead-containing neutral or caustic solution, and a crack growth rate are decreased, thus increasing elongation. Further, a stress corrosion cracking ratio is decreased, and therefore the stress corrosion cracking resistance of metal or alloy can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20080096355
Abstract: A memory device includes an active area protruding from a semiconductor substrate. A recess is formed in the active area. A field oxide layer is formed on the semiconductor substrate. A gate electrode extends across the active area while being overlapped with the recess. A gate insulation layer is interposed between the gate electrode and the active area. Source and drain areas are formed in the active area. The transistor structure above defines a recessed transistor structure if it is sectioned along a source-drain line and defines a Fin transistor structure if it is sectioned along a gate line. The transistor structure ensures sufficient data retention time and improves the current drivability while lowering the back bias dependency of a threshold voltage.

  • Publication number: 20080095471
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for interpolating chroma signals while minimizing the calculation overhead. To this end, multiplication requiring a large operation is removed when obtaining a fractional-pel value through chroma interpolation, and a simple linear interpolation method is used in order to reduce the number of operations including addition, subtraction, etc. In this way, it is possible to considerably reduce the operation amount for an ME and an MC which normally consume more than about 30% of H.264 system processing power.

  • Patent number: 7362063
Abstract: In a method for measuring motor speed and position by detecting the back-EMF generated during pole-pair interactions, fluctuations of a three-phase motor power supply that may affect back-EMF detection are reduced. One phase of the power supply is tristated for a certain interval preceding and during back-EMF detection. For a shorter interval during back-EMF detection, the voltage drop across the motor is reduced from the full power supply voltage. This preferably is accomplished either by pulling a first of the other two power supply phases low, while pulling a second of the other two power supply phases up to a regulated voltage below the power supply voltage, or by pulling the second of the other two phases up to the power supply voltage and pulling the first of the other two phases down to a regulated voltage above ground.

  • Patent number: 7362812
Abstract: A channel tracking module, configured for generating updated equalization coefficients for a frequency equalizer, is configured for determining a digital-based error value between equalized signals output by the frequency equalizer relative to predicted signals, for each subcarrier frequency of an OFDM symbol. The channel tracking module determines an accumulated error based on accumulating the digital-based error values for all the subcarrier frequencies of the OFDM symbol, for a prescribed successive number of OFDM symbols. The channel tracking module also determines a step size based on the accumulated error and relative to a prescribed step function configured for optimizing equalizer adjustments within stability limits. The channel tracking updates the equalization coefficients for each subscarrier frequency based on the accumulated error and the step size.
