  • Patent number: 7362949
Abstract: Described is an intelligent fast-forward video system that automatically controls a relative play speed of the video based on a complexity of the content reflecting the real story of a video, thereby enabling to carry out a fast-forward viewing for summarizing an entire story of a digital video or moving fast to a major concerning part. The present invention obtains the complexity of the content using information of motion vector, shot, face, text, and audio for an entire video and adaptively controls the play speed for each of the intervals on a fast-forward viewing of the corresponding video on the basis of the obtained complexity of the content. And, in more detail, the present invention plays a complicated story interval relatively slow and a simple and tedious part relatively fast, thereby enabling to provide a user with a summarized story of the corresponding video without viewing the entire video as well as a fast search for a part wanted by the user.

  • Patent number: 7362733
Abstract: A transmitting/receiving apparatus and method for packet retransmission in a mobile communication system. Upon request for a retransmission from a receiver, a transmitter generates first coded bits by inverting initially transmitted coded bits, generates second coded bits by separating the initially transmitted coded bits into a first bit group having a relatively high priority and a second bit group having a relatively low priority and exchanging the first bit group with the second bit group, and generates third coded bits by inverting the exchanged coded bits. The transmitter selects one of the first coded bits, the second coded bits according to the sequence number of a retransmission request received from the receiver, and the third coded bits and maps the selected coded bits to modulation symbols. The transmitter then transmits the modulation symbols to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 7361943
Abstract: A Si-based diode (10, 10?, 100) is formed by epitaxially depositing a Si-based diode structure on a silicon substrate. The Si-based diode structure includes a Si-based pn junction (16, 16?, 18, 18?, 30, 32, 160, 161) having a backward diode current-voltage characteristic in which the forward tunneling current is substantially smaller than the backward tunneling current at comparable voltage levels. In some embodiments, the Si-based pn junction includes at least one non-silicon or silicon alloy layer such as at least one SiGe layer (16, 16?, 160, 161). In some embodiments, at least one delta doping (30, 32) is disposed on the silicon substrate in or near the pn junction, that together with the Si-based pn junction define an electrical junction having the backward diode current-voltage characteristic. A large area detector array may include a plurality of such Si-based diodes (10, 10?, 100).

  • Patent number: 7363652
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preventing TCP SYN package flood attack, and belongs to the computer network security field. First, the firewall receives a client a TCP SYN connection request package, and responses, as an agent of the server, an acknowledgement of the TCP SYN connection request package with zero window size to the client. Then, the firewall records information about the TCP SYN connection request package and checks whether the connection request is legal. When the firewall has received a TCP SYN response package from the server, it returns an acknowledgement of said TCP SYN response package. At the same time, the firewall, as an agent of the server, sends an acknowledgement packet with nonzero window size to the client for initiating data transmission from the client. After that, data packets are transferred between the client and the server forwarded by the firewall as an agent.

  • Patent number: 7363549
Abstract: A data management system or “DMS” provides an automated, continuous, real-time, substantially no downtime data protection service to one or more data sources associated with a set of application host servers. To facilitate the data protection service, a host driver embedded in an application server captures real-time data transactions, preferably in the form of an event journal that is provided to other DMS components. The driver functions to translate traditional file/database/block I/O and the like into a continuous, application-aware, output data stream. The host driver includes an event processor that provides the data protection service, preferably by implementing a finite state machine (FSM). In particular, the data protection is provided to a given data source in the host server by taking advantage of the continuous, real-time data that the host driver is capturing and providing to other DMS components.

  • Patent number: 7362944
Abstract: A combination system commonly using a set-up value with regard to plural devices. The combination system has an input unit to input the set-up value, plural set-up value storage units to store the input set-up value, and a controller to control a set-up value storage operation with respect to the set-up value storage units. A user inputs the set-up value as data about an operation mode of each of the devices through the input unit. The controller judges whether the set-up value input into one of the devices is the same type value as a pre-set up value with regard to another device. When the set-up value is determined to be the same type value, then the controller sets up the pre-set up value as a common set-up value with regard to the plural devices. Accordingly, the user does not have to input the set-up value individually for each of the devices.
