  • Publication number: 20050105830
Abstract: The present invention is an interpolation device and method. According to the present invention, a plurality of pixels close to a pixel to be interpolated are sequentially set to a central pixel. When a pixel difference closest to a threshold value among pixel differences between the central pixel and a plurality of pixels around the central pixel belongs to a quasi-edge decision range, an edge interpolation and a bilinear interpolation are mixed to interpolate the pixel to be interpolated. As a result, it is possible to prevent reduction in image quality due to an edge verdict caused by unstable input image signal and perform a stable interpolation operation.

  • Patent number: 6854557
Abstract: A vehicle control system that selectively provides rear-wheel steering to prevent a vehicle-trailer from jackknifing during a back-up maneuver. The system senses a steering angle of the vehicle, a speed of the vehicle and a hitch angle between the vehicle and the trailer. The system calculates an equilibrium hitch angle that is a steady-state hitch angle position based on the steering angle and the vehicle speed, and a pseudo-equilibrium hitch angle that is a steady-state hitch angle at a maximum rear-wheel steering input based on the steering angle and the vehicle speed. The system then determines whether the rear-wheel steering should be provided based on a predetermined relationship between the sensed hitch angle, the equilibrium hitch angle and the pseudo-equilibrium hitch angle.

  • Patent number: 6806809
Abstract: A control system for estimating the tongue length of a trailer being towed by a vehicle in connection with a front wheel steering with or without a coordinated rear wheel steering associated with the vehicle. The control signal system employs an algorithm that calculates an estimated hitch angle between the vehicle and the trailer based on an estimated tongue length, a front wheel steering angle, a rear wheel steering angle, a measured hitch angle, vehicle speed and vehicle yaw rate. The estimated hitch angle is compared to the measured hitch angle to generate a hitch angle error that is converted to a tongue length error. The tongue length error is compared to the estimated tongue length to become a corrected estimated tongue length for a next computation period. After a few seconds of processing, the corrected estimated tongue length will be the actual tongue length of the trailer.

  • Patent number: 6771835
Abstract: A 2-dimensional non-linear interpolation system and method based on edge information includes an edge detector, an edge direction modifier, a near-edge coefficient generator, a filter coefficient generator and a non-linear interpolation unit. The edge detector detects edge information among pixels from a video signal applied through an input terminal. The edge direction modifier converts the edge information detected by the edge detector on the basis of a center point among peripheral pixels of an interpolation position and outputs modified edge information. The near-edge coefficient generator converts the coordinates of the interpolation position based on the modified edge information to generate a converted interpolation position, generates edge patterns corresponding to the converted interpolation position, and generates a plurality of 2-dimensional interpolation coefficients in response to predetermined one-dimensional non-linear interpolation filter coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20040135926
Abstract: Provided is a progressive scan method used in a display using adaptive edge interpolation. According to the progressive scan method, a final edge direction that satisfies a first edge-determination condition and a second edge-determination condition is detected by performing interpolation for 7×3 pixel windows, using code determination and a comparison of a standard deviation based on differences between luminances of pixel data divided by an edge boundary. As a result, directional edge interpolation is carried out in a region of a low gradient below 45° and to 27° at the minimum, and simple intra-field linear interpolation can be performed in a high-frequency texture region. Subsequently, it is possible to remove high-frequency noise introduced in edge dependent interpolation or unnatural screen display due to zigzagged edges, thereby improving the quality of a display.

  • Publication number: 20040122831
Abstract: A system and method for automatically generating documents used in an Internet e-business environment. In the present invention, using document components that may be jointly used between e-business systems and that are stored in a document component library, a document generation rule formulating tool based on a graphic user interface is employed to generate business documents. Document components are assembled based on these rules, after which context rules are applied to revise the assembled components to match desired conditions to thereby generate grammar neutral documents. Finally, conversion is performed into grammar for a specific business system to generate business documents. As a result, the differences between business systems are overcome, and the re-usability of business documents is maximized to enable e-business to be performed efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6674906
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting edges by which the detection of the edges of a natural image from an image obtained by mixing the graphic or text and the natural image is suppressed, to thereby stably detect edges of the graphic or the text, are disclosed. In this method, the differences in pixel value between the first pixel of sequentially input images and eight pixels adjacent to the first pixel are obtained. If all of the differences between the first pixel and the eight pixels adjacent to the first pixel are greater than a maximum threshold value or less than a minimum threshold value, the first pixel is determined to be an edge pixel. Likewise, determinations are made as to whether a second pixel, positioned adjacent the first pixel along a first dimension (for example to the left of the first pixel), is an edge pixel and whether a third pixel, positioned adjacent the first pixel along a second dimension (for example above the first pixel), is an edge pixel.
