  • Publication number: 20060152451
Abstract: Disclosed is an image display apparatus having, in every pixel, a light-emitting element such as an organic electro-luminescence (EL) element of which the brightness is controlled by a current. The image display apparatus includes transistors that form a current mirror in the pixel and using a pixel structure having two scan lines, so as to select pixels of at least two rows simultaneously, distribute the current applied to the data line to the pixel for recording display information and the adjacent pixel, and record the display information on the pixel of no more than one row among the selected pixels. This drastically increases the current for driving the data line and decreases the size of the transistors that form the current mirror in the pixel.

  • Publication number: 20060148185
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a high voltage transistor is disclosed. The method includes sequentially forming gate oxide films, polysilicon layers, and silicon nitride films on a semiconductor substrate; patterning the silicon nitride films, the polysilicon layers, and the gate oxide films using photolithographic and isotropic etching processes to form nitride film shades and polysilicon gate electrodes; implanting impurity ions into the substrate using the nitride film shades as protective barriers; performing an annealing process to form source and drain diffusion regions of a double diffusion structure; and removing the nitride film shades. Therefore, since the silicon nitride films are used as the protective barriers during impurity ion implantation, the source and drain diffusion regions can be formed in a double diffusion drain junction structure without forming a space oxide film.

  • Patent number: 7057589
Abstract: In a display, capacitors are charged with first precharge voltages at the time of applying selection signals to previous scan lines. A data driver divides a plurality of data lines into a plurality of groups each of which consists of at least one data line and applies corresponding data voltages to the data lines of respective groups sequentially. The display further includes a precharge means, and such precharge means applies second precharge voltages to data lines of at least one group before selection signals for selecting scan line are applied to the scan line connected to the pixel circuits and stops application of the second precharge voltages before corresponding data voltages are applied to the respective groups. In this way, it is possible to solve the problem of poor images due to charge redistribution of the capacitors caused by previous data voltages stored in parasitic capacitors.

  • Publication number: 20060116134
Abstract: A method for determining a GPRS mobile terminal connection mode is disclosed. Whenever a GPRS data service is requested, a mobile terminal counts the number of attempted of GPRS connections and the number of successful GPRS connections to calculate a GPRS connection rate, compares the calculated connection rate with a predetermined connection rate. If the calculated connection rate is greater than the predetermined connection rate, the mobile terminal changes the GPRS connection mode to a ‘when needed mode’, whereas if the calculated connection rate is not greater than the predetermined connection rate, the mobile terminal changes the GPRS connection mode to an ‘always on mode’. Accordingly, by changing the connection mode in a GPRS network, network resources can be better utilized and the connection rates can be increased.

  • Publication number: 20060114196
Abstract: An organic electroluminescence display and a method of operating the organic electroluminescence display are disclosed. A pixel array unit, including a plurality of pixels, is divided into at least two pixel groups adjacent to each other. The first pixel group is selected by a first scan driving unit and the second pixel group is selected by a second scan driving unit. Scanning lines for selecting the first pixel group extend into the first pixel group and scanning lines for selecting the second pixel group extend into the second pixel group. Accordingly, each scanning line is reduced in length and thus impedance of the scanning line is decreased. The reduction of impedance prevents delay or distortion of scan signals.

  • Patent number: 7005909
Abstract: In a level shifter, first and second PMOS transistors are connected in series between first and second power sources for supplying first high level and low level voltages, respectively, and a capacitor is formed between a contact point of the first and second transistors and the second transistor's gate. A third PMOS transistor is diode-connected and connected between the first and second transistors' gates. When a second low level voltage is input to the first transistor's gate, a second high level voltage is output to the contact point according to an on resistance ratio of the first and second transistors. When a first high level voltage is input to the first transistor's gate, the second transistor is bootstrapped according to the voltage charged to the capacitor so that a first low level voltage is substantially output to the contact point.

  • Patent number: 6985187
Abstract: A motion-adaptive interpolation apparatus and method are disclosed. After an image signal is received and horizontal directional inter-frame motion information of a field to be currently interpolated is estimation, and interpolating is suitably performed based on the motion information. According to one aspect of the present invention, a basic unit image region is set for a pizel to be interpolated, a block matching error (BME) is obtained by moving the basic unit image region at certain intervals in a different direction, a linear interpolated pixel value is detected in consideration of the block matching error, and a final interpolation value is calculated and outputted by applying a rule and filtering based on the linear interpolated pizel value. Thus, a picture quality is improved after de-interlacing, and a circuit for implementation of the operation is simplified, so that a unit cost can be reduced.
