Publication number: 20030098266Abstract: A fully automatic deionizer comprising five sub-systems for removing ionic contaminants from various liquids at low energy consumption is devised. Based on the charging-discharging principle of capacitors, the deionizer conducts deionization through applying a low DC voltage to its electrodes for adsorbing ions, while more than 30% of the process energy is recovered and stored by discharging the electrodes. At the mean time of discharge, surface of the electrodes is regenerated on site and reset for performing many more cycles of deionization-regeneration till the desirable purification is attained. In one moment, both deionization and regeneration proceed simultaneously on different groups of electrode modules, and in the next moment the electrode modules quickly switch the two processes. Such swift reciprocating actions are engaged in synchronized coordination of sub-systems of electrode modules, energy management, fluid flow, and automatic control.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Inventors: Lih-Ren Shiue, Abel Sun, Hsing-Chen Chung, Fei-Chen Hsieh, Yu-His Hsieh, Ming-Liang Chiu, Ying-Jen Lai

Examples of halides which can be utilized with the subject matter include, but are not necessarily limited to, Cl, Br, F, and I. Once the CuX, or CuX and CuX2, are formed the subject invention can then involve passing a reducing gas over the area of Cu for a sufficient time to etch away at least a portion of the CuX, or CuX2, respectively. With respect to a specific embodiment in which CuX and CuX2 are produced when the halide gas is passed over the area of Cu, the reducing gas can be passed until essentially all of the CuX2 is etched and at least a portion of the CuX is etched. Examples of reducing gases which can be utilized with the subject invention include, but are not necessarily limited to, hydrogen gas and hydrogen gas plasma.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Inventor: Nagraj Kulkarni

Publication number: 20030098293Abstract: In the wire electric-discharge machining apparatus, when a measured voltage exceeds a proportional constant switching voltage that is set higher than a short circuit reference voltage, a relative feed rate determining unit outputs a relative feed rate based on a preliminarily set proportional constant A according to an increase in the measured voltage. When the measured voltage is equal to a reference voltage, the relative feed rate determining unit outputs a target feed rate that becomes a target value, and also outputs a relative feed rate that follows a preset proportional constant B (<A) and that is a positive value when the measured voltage exceeds the short circuit reference voltage but is below the proportional constant switching voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Applicant: MITSUBISHI DENKI KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Tatsushi Sato, Junichi Shibata

Publication number: 20030098294Abstract: The wire electric-discharge machining apparatus is provided with an inter-pole voltage correction unit 109 which corrects a voltage corresponding to an inter-pole voltage according to a correction coefficient which increases with an elongation of discharge stop time. A corrected voltage corresponding to the inter-pole voltage output from the inter-pole voltage correction unit 109 is given to a control unit 106 to allow a wire electrode 101 and a workpiece 102 to relatively move according to the corrected voltage corresponding to the inter-pole voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Applicant: MITSUBISHI DENKI KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Akihiro Goto, Tatsushi Sato, Toshio Nakashima, Junichi Shibata

Publication number: 20030098295Abstract: A low cost method and apparatus for simultaneous block melting of a material by laser enabling completion of work in a short time. A laser beam from a YAG laser source etc. strikes a diffraction type optical element like a diffraction lens and is split into a large number of beams by diffraction and transmission. The beams are focused by a condensing lens etc. on a plastic surface as a large number of points or a line. The plastic is simultaneously heated to melt at these focused points for welding with another object or for removal. Therefore, no deformation occurs in the worked material like in the prior art where a surface was scanned by a focused point. The worked material may be a metal etc. in addition to a plastic.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Inventors: Yasunori Kawamoto, Fumio Kawanishi, Hideaki Shirai

Publication number: 20030098298Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor and especially to a technique for maintaining constant power consumption in preheating a compressor motor in an air conditioner. An object thereof is to permit constant preheating of the motor irrespective of variations in receiving voltage. To accomplish this object, switching control of an inverter (15) that applies a three-phase current to a motor (30) is performed by a control circuit (20) in accordance with a duty based on detected values of voltage (Vm) and current (Im). This duty decreases with increasing receiving voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2001Publication date: May 29, 2003Inventors: Hiroshi Dohmae, Tomoisa Taniguchi

Publication number: 20030098299Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a ceramic substrate that is superior in temperature rising/dropping characteristics and breakdown voltage at a high temperature, has a small warp amount, and is optimum as a substrate used for an element for temperature adjustment of an optical device. A ceramic heater of the present invention is a ceramic heater having temperature adjustment means, characterized in that the number of pores which are formed in the ceramic substrate and which have a diameter of 0.5 &mgr;m or more is 15×1011 or less per m2, or 0.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Applicant: IBIDEN CO., LTD.Inventors: Yasuji Hiramatsu, Yasutaka Ito

Publication number: 20030098300Abstract: Disclosed is a molding heater including: a first metal plate having a recess formed on one side thereof and a groove elongatedly formed on a lower portion of the recess; a hot wire inserted into the groove; a ceramic filled in a gap between the hot wire and the groove; and a second metal plate coupled with the fist metal plate, the second metal plate filling the recess while closely contacting with the lower portion and lateral sides of the recess. Since the hot wire 120a is surrounded only with a single layer of the ceramic 120b, a resistance of the heat conduction can be minimized. Accordingly, a sufficient calorific power can be obtained through the metal plates 110a and 110b using even a small power and a short of the hot wire 120a due to an overload can be prevented. Further, since the metal tube 20c of the prior art is not used, it is unnecessary to perform the outgassing process, thereby simplifying a manufacturing process.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2002Publication date: May 29, 2003Applicant: Jusung Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yong Woo Shin
