Abstract: In a fuel injection pump, axial ends of first and second plungers driven by a drive shaft via a cam and a cam ring are in slidable contact with first and second sliding surfaces of the cam ring. The first and second sliding surfaces are positioned on opposite sides of the drive shaft and non-parallel. When the first plunger is in compression stroke, a wedge shaped gap whose angle is &agr; is formed between the axial end of the second plunger and the second sliding surface. Accordingly, when the second plunger is in the compression stroke, sliding contact portions of the axial end of the second plunger and the second sliding surface are well lubricated by fuel entered the gap, resulting in preventing frictional seizure thereof.

Abstract: The subject matter of the invention is a new additive for mineral binders comprising a composition containing at least one product of internal dehydration of a hydrogenated sugar which can especially be a dehydrated hexitol such as isosorbide, isomannide, sorbitan or mannitan and which can be introduced at a rate of between roughly 0.001 and 5% (dry/dry) within any mineral binder, said additive being advantageously used as an accelerator for setting and/or hardening and/or as an agent for improving the mechanical properties of the mineral binder. It has a remarkable efficiency, including at low temperatures.

Abstract: The present invention relates to settable compositions for general purpose concrete construction containing Class-F fly ash, Class-C fly ash or slag, and potassium chloride (KCl) as a substantial replacement for Portland cement conventionally used in such compositions. The potassium chloride is an additive for improved high early strength and accelerated setting times, thereby allowing the concrete structure to be put into service sooner, reducing labor cost, and allowing precast concrete and concrete masonry manufacturers to achieve rapid form and mold turnover.

Abstract: High-temperature and high-pressure water, preferably at or above supercritical conditions for water, is injected into a high-temperature flame of a fuel combustor such as a coal-fired furnace, or boiler, or a turbine, internal combustion engine, rocket or the like. The process enhances efficiency of the combustion process, and, when used with fuels such as coal, renders ash, particularly fly ash, cementitious, so that it can be used as a substitute for conventional cement, reduces the carbon content of the ash, so that it can be used as a cement additive, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions into the environment.

Abstract: The method for sealing a seam between adjacent structural panels significantly reduces the time for finishing a drywall in comparison with conventional methods, which use multiple applications of a joint compound to seal the seam. An all-purpose drywall joint compound is mixed with a synthetic fiber, such as Colombian Fiber, or polypropylene, and sufficient water to facilitate soaking of the synthetic fiber and mixing with the joint compound. An optional liquid adhesive, such as liquid wallpaper adhesive, is added to the mixture. The mixture is then applied as one coat to the seam and allowed to dry. No subsequent coatings of the mixture are necessary.

Abstract: A table that is stowable and deployable from a seatback of a passenger seat includes a substantially planar food tray with a first surface and a second surface substantially parallel to the first surface. The tray is stowed in a substantially vertical position with the first surface facing a seated passenger. The stowed tray is held in position with a moveable switch engaged against the first surface. A device for stowing and deploying the tray is mounted on the second surface. A pair of legs is mounted to the device. Each leg has a first end attached to the device and a second end attached to the seat. Upon turning the switch clear of the first surface, the device slidably urges the first surface from its stowed position to a deployed, substantially horizontal position, with the first surface facing upwards.

Abstract: A receiving plate supporting device includes a base, a supporting portion, a plate and a pair of rods. The base has a pair of piece-like bodies which are spaced with a predetermined distance and are installed at a wall. A supporting portion is installed at the two piece-like bodies having an upper slide path and a lower slide path. The plate is a rectangular plate with a width corresponding to a distance between two piece-like bodies. The pair of rods is corresponding to the supporting portion and is installed at lateral sides of the plate. The plate can be placed horizontally or vertically as desired. Therefore, it is space-efficient and convenient. Furthermore, the receiving plate supporting device can be assembled easily, and structure of each component is easy and is cost-effective.
