Abstract: The invention relates to a ballistic vest containing a stock of flexible fabrics and a stack of flexible unidirectional layers, in which the fabrics contain strong fibres of a first kind, the unidirectional layers contain strong fibres of a second kind, and in which the fibres in a unidirectional layer run essentially parallel and are disposed at an angle to fibres in an adjacent layer which is greater than 0 degrees, where in that the flexible fabric is a loose fabric and is located on the strike side of the vest. The percentages by weight of the loose fabrics and the stack of UD layers preferably is between 15:85 and 30:70%. In that case, a vest of areal density less than 6 kg/m2 can have such ballistic resistance as to stop an Action 3 bullet with a velocity of up to 437 m/s with a trauma to NIJ Standard of less than 44 mm.

Abstract: A glare protection device for a welding protective mask includes active electro-optical protective filter (2) and an electronic circuit (10). A UV-detector (UVD), which serves as an optical sensor, detects the welding light and, via an evaluation circuit (10.1), generates a signal (sin) for controlling of the protective filter (2). The signal corresponds to the detected UV intensity. This results in a simple and safe controlling of the protective filter, which is uninfluenced by the effects of extraneous light.

Abstract: The present invention provides garments in which the torso front panel and the torso back panel are stitched together along at least a portion of each side of the garment, and along a remaining portion of each side the torso front panel and the torso back panel are left unstitched together. The unstitched together portion of each of the torso front panel and the torso back panel overlap along the side of the garment so as to enclose the torso of the wearer. Each intersection of the bottom edge and the corresponding overlapping side edge of each of the torso front panel and the torso back panel defines a corner that may be configured to be either angular or rounded. In a first preferred embodiment of the present invention, the portion stitched together along each side of the garment includes at least a portion of the circumference of each arm hole, and the unstitched together portion extends below each the arm hole.

Abstract: A composite velour fabric garment includes a laminate consisting of an outer woven shell layer, an inner thermal layer of knit construction, and an intermediate layer disposed between and laminated to each of the shell layer and the thermal layer. The outer woven shell layer contains spandex in at least a weft direction for stretch and recovery in a width direction. The knit construction of the inner thermal layer provides stretch in at least a width direction, in harmony with the shell layer, and the inner thermal layer has a raised surface facing inwardly, away from the shell layer. The intermediate layer has controlled air permeability, including zero air permeability.

Abstract: The garment made of stretchable material is adapted for an upper part of a body. The garment has front and back sections and a hem; a front of the hem is provided with a pair of slits, while a back—with a pair of apertures. A lace for fastening the garment to the upper part of the body is used. This lace has a pair of ends and is adapted to encircle a waist and to interact with the pair of slits and apertures. The first and second ends, after exiting from the pair of slits, are manipulated so as to extend downwardly and brought under the crotch area and then up toward the back of the wearer. There, first and second ends are inserted into the pair of apertures, behind lace, then brought forward, stretched and tied together.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cushioning laminate insert for a garment shoulder strap, such as a brassiere strap. The cushioning laminate insert of the invention includes: (1) a first outer fabric layer; (2) a central cushioning area of cured polyurethane elastomer cushioning material; and (3) a second outer fabric layer. One surface of the first and second outer fabric layers is laminated with a thermoplastic urethane (“TPU”) film. The laminated surface of the first outer fabric layer is covalently bonded to a first lateral surface of the central cushioning area, and the opposite lateral surface of the central cushioning area is self-adhered to the laminated surface of the second outer fabric layer in an open-sandwich configuration to thereby form the cushioning laminate insert. Garment shoulder straps including the cushioning laminate insert of the invention, as well as methods for making the cushioning laminate insert are also provided.

The device comprises only two separable parts, a funnel and a flexible tube and can easily be carried in purse, pocket or fanny pack. Fabricated from a flexible material, the funnel is contoured to conform to the labia region of the female anatomy. Soft, rounded edges, allows a user to hold the funnel against her body with sufficient pressure to form a seal without discomfort and without the feel of an adhesive. Since the material is flexible, the funnel can be manipulated to be wider or narrower as desired. A flexible tube is detachably mounted on the funnel to form a flow path directed away from the user.

Abstract: A drain plunger handle for use with a plunger head to remove obstructions in a plumbing system. The drain plunger handle comprises a handle body, a pair of handle members and a head connector for connecting to the plunger head. The handle members are vertically offset from each other and substantially within the same general vertical plane to provide an ergonomically beneficial grip on the drain plunger handle when used to clear the obstruction. The handle members can be slidably attached to the handle body to allow the user to adjust the amount of vertical offset. The head connector can include a connector body and a threaded post for threadably connecting to the plunger head. The present plunger handle allows the user to comfortably and easily apply more force to the plunger head so as to supply the necessary positive and negative pressure pulses to dislodge the obstruction.

Abstract: A hydraulic suction fuse is mounted in a conventional debris collection trap of a swimming pool, spa or the like, to significantly reduce or eliminate any suction force on the bottom or side wall mounted drain of the swimming pool, spa or the like, as a result of the drain becoming essentially wholly covered by a body part of a person or other drain clogging article. Alternatively, the hydraulic suction fuse may be mounted in a compartment in line between the drain and a suction pump of a swimming pool, spa or the like. Thereby, a person captured by the suction force at the drain will be released and the person is free to move away from the drain essentially instantaneously upon contact with the drain. In one embodiment, the hydraulic suction fuse is self resetting once inflow through the drain is no longer restricted. In another embodiment of the hydraulic suction fuse, the hydraulic suction fuse may be easily manually reset.

Abstract: A air selection control valve and assembly capable of controlling the flow of air into a water conduit to accelerate, decelerate, or pulse the rate of water flowing in combination with a hot tub spa assembly is described. This invention makes use of the control of the air inlet to control the pulsing of water. This invention also describes an innovative multi-way control valve system that can be controlled by as few as a single solenoid for pulsing some or all of the jets of a standard hot tub spa.

The system includes a bracket affixable to the tub skirt and a panel easily attachable to and detachable from the bracket. The panel, when attached, hides the bracket when viewed from the exterior of the tub skirt. Clips are used to attach the panel to said bracket. The system is an improvement over systems using velcro or brackets which are visible when a panel is in place.
