Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for reducing the likelihood of signaling link congestion on a failing or recovering signaling linkset are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method for reducing or eliminating congestion on a recovered link in a previously failed linkset due to the routing of post-global title (GT) translated signaling message traffic is disclosed. When the first link in a previously failed linkset becomes available, routes associated with the recovering linkset are marked as restricted. GT translated messages are directed to the lowest cost route that is marked as allowed. If no routes are marked as allowed, messages are directed to the lowest cost route that is marked as restricted. When a predetermined number or percentage of the links in a linkset become available, routes associated with the recovering linkset are marked as allowed.

Abstract: Sharing access to resources using an inter-process communication (“IPC”) provides a connection in which references to resources may be passed from a sender to a receiver in a trusted third party environment. A sender in possession of a reference to a resource, such as a handle to an object, may initiate the connection with the receiver. In turn, the receiver may accept or refuse the connection, and may further specify the types of resources in which the receiver is interested when accepting through the connection. Sharing access to resources in this manner advantageously insures that only a process that already has access to a resource is able to share that access with another process, and further that only processes that wish to do so will accept such access.

Abstract: Disclosed is a clock recovery method and apparatus for CBR traffic in the packet switching network so as to recover the clock of the CBR traffic upon transmission by inserting a small amount of random packets to the CBR traffic stream which has arrived in a receiver. According to the present inventive concept, the CBR streams are added with the random traffic streams in the packet switching network, so that the clock of the CBR streams upon transmission can be recovered, and jitter and wander according to clock recovery can be reduced.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a channel in a frame of the audio signal is subdivided into a plurality of blocks according to a subdivision hierarchy. The subdivision hierarchy has more than one level, and each level is associated with a different block length. At least two of the blocks have different lengths. First subdivision information indicating whether the channel has been subdivided is generated, and second subdivision information is generated if the subdividing has been performed. The second subdivision information indicates the subdivision of the channel into the blocks.

Abstract: A method providing quick and appropriate audio response to events such as mouse movements on a web page in a network like the Internet. In the known art audio responses, such as vocal descriptions are annoying and confusing because they take several seconds before being heard. The described method overcomes this confusion by initiating, typically, two instances of an audio player in the viewer's browser. One instance plays a quick response file such as a MIDI lead-in file while the other plays the slower initiating voice description. The result is immediately responsive and appropriate.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for improved static address translation. Certain embodiments include a method for address translation in a network, wherein the network includes a device associated with an identifier and assigned a dynamic address. The method includes matching the identifier for the device to a static address; creating an address mapping between the dynamic address assigned to the device and the static address; and transmitting data to and from the device using the address mapping. The method may also include transmitting a record indicating a presence of the device on the network, wherein the record includes the identifier for the device. Additionally, the method may include providing the address mapping to a router for routing data between the device and another entity. Abstract: The present invention provides a UWB communication device and a UWB communication method with which the communication speed can be improved, and with which accurate sending and receiving of data and a lower power consumption can be achieved. A communication device in accordance with the present invention employs a sending/receiving method of sending four bits of data within four cycles of a system clock, sending the four bits of data by correlating them in a 1-to-1 relationship with seven types of pulse waveforms with only one pulse during the first seven half-cycles and nine different types of pulse waveforms with two pulses during the first seven half-cycles of four cycles of the system clock, and at the receiving side demodulating the modulated input data by correlating the sixteen types of pulse waveforms that have been sent back to the four bits of data. Furthermore, when receiving, the width of the received pulses is set to a length of 1.

Abstract: Cancellation of interference in a communication system with application to S-CDMA. A relatively straight-forward implemented and computationally efficient approach of selecting a predetermined number of unused codes is used to perform weighted linear combination selectively with each of the input spread signals in a multiple access communication system. If desired, the predetermined number of unused codes is always the same in each implementation. Alternatively, the predetermined number of unused codes is selected from within a reordered code matrix using knowledge that is shared between the two ends of a communication system, such as between the CMs and a CMTS. While the context of an S-CDMA communication system having CMs and a CMTS is used, the solution is generally applicable to any communication system that seeks to cancel narrowband interference. Several embodiments are also described that show the generic applicability of the solution across a wide variety of systems.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing power consumption within a wireless receiver is provided herein. Particularly, the use of partial chip sequence correlation to reduce the average power consumption of a direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) wireless transceiver is provided herein. During operation, the receiver will attempt to correlate, or de-spread, less than all chips that constitute a symbol. A partial correlation may be performed on M chips, where M may be much less than N, the number of chips that represent a whole symbol. In a preferred embodiment, the M chips are the first M chips in the symbol.

Abstract: The invention relates to an ultra-low power high-efficiency wireless digital receiver which executes integration of a correlation signal of a reception signal without relying heavily on a high-power device like an amplifier, thereby reducing power consumption and attaining high sensitivity and efficiency. The receiver includes a SAW correlator having an internal correlation code corresponding to a conversion code of a transmitter and correlating the internal correlation code with a reception signal to provide a correlation signal. The receiver also includes a rectifier for rectifying the correlation signal from the SAW correlator, and an integrator for integrating the signal rectified by the rectifier to detect a voltage of the signal from the rectifier. The receiver further includes a comparator for comparing the voltage detected by the integrator and a predetermined reference voltage to output a digital signal according to the comparison result.

Abstract: A base station for carrier offset recovery. An adaptive matched filter produces a filtered signal. A rake receiver provides relative path values of multipath components. A mixer generates channel impulse response estimates. A channel despreader despreads the filtered signal using the pseudo-noise signal generated to produce a despread channel signal of the selected channel. A pilot channel despreader despreads the filtered signal using a pseudo-noise signal generator to produce a despread pilot signal of the pilot channel. A hard decision processor determines a symbol value of the despread channel signal. A complex conjugate processor generates a complex conjugate of the symbol value as a correction signal. A phase-locked loop produces a phase correction signal to recover carrier offset.

Abstract: An interface circuit for a multi-differential embedded-clock channel for communicating data provides efficient utilization of the bandwidth of the channel. The interface circuit includes at least four first signals, at least four second signals, and a multi-differential amplifier. The multi-differential amplifier is coupled to the first and second signals. The multi-differential amplifier is adapted to generate the second signals by amplifying, for all combinations of two of the first signals, differential transitions between the two of the first signals. Each of a plurality of symbols of the data has a corresponding one of the differential transitions, and the differential transitions are serially communicated through the channel.

Abstract: A system and method for testing communication performance between two wireless communication devices. A value table is used to determine a test string in both the unit under test and another wireless device. An initiating device transmits data to the secondary device, which may check the incoming data for errors against an “expected” data string. The secondary device may then correct the incoming data (if necessary) and transmit it back to the initiating device. The initiating device may check this data and combine it with data from the secondary device in order to determine an overall bit error rate (BER) and/or packet error rate (PER).
