Abstract: Interactive Cube Furniture, having a plurality of identical cubes each constructed of six square of poly foam pads, each having edges that taper forty-five degrees, six rigid square pan shapes that fit snuggly over each poly foam pad and eight U shaped channels that can connect the pans and attached foam pads together to construct a cube. The cubes are inserted into an upholstery housing. One panel of each cube of the upholstery housing can be opened via a zipper so that the cube assembly can be inserted into the upholstery housing. The flexible fabric of the upholstery construction acts as hinge members at certain locations thereby making the multi-cube assembly connected so that the cubes can be folded on top of each other in a variety of ways to create unique pieces of furniture.

The relief valve has a valve sheet formed at an outer diameter portion thereof with a bypass. Abstract: The invention regards a permanent-magnets mono-phase synchronous electric motor (7) for washing machines and the like, in particular for washing pumps (1), with improved stator (4) structure and of the type centrally comprising a permanent-magnets axial rotor (2) and a stator (4) with a lamination pack core (5) and a couple of pole pieces with ends enveloping the rotor (2), of which they have substantially the same axial length and from which they are spaced by respective aircore. Such a motor is distinguished in that the lamination pack core (5) has a shorter axial length with respect to the ends (10, 11) of said pole pieces. Advantageously, the stator (4) pole pieces are obtained through moulding magnetic powders.

Abstract: A rear-end bearing accommodating portion that has a floored cylindrical shape is formed integrally on a rear bracket. A brush apparatus is mounted to the rear bracket by mounting a slinger portion onto an end portion of a shaft so as to cover slip rings. A rectifier is mounted to the rear bracket in close proximity to the rear-end bearing accommodating portion and the slinger portion. A rolling bearing is configured into a creep preventing bearing in which a resin band is mounted into a ring-shaped recessed groove that is recessed into an outer circumferential surface of an outer ring. A first slit is disposed through the slinger portion so as to be positioned so as to face downward when mounted to a vehicle and so as to communicate between an internal portion and an external portion of the slinger portion.

Abstract: An integrated composite beam structure. The structure has a substrate, which includes a surface and a thickness defined underlying the surface. The substrate is composed of a first material. A thickness of polymer based material includes a first portion, a length, and a second portion. The second is coupled to a portion of the substrate. The length is defined between the first portion and the second portion. The structure also has a spring constant (K) of less than a predetermined amount (e.g., 10 N/m, 1 N/m) characterizing the length of the polymer based beam structure. The first portion is capable of moving in a first direction characterized by the spring constant upon application of an externally applied force and is substantially fixed in a second direction, which is normal to the first direction. The second end is capable of returning to a predetermined state when the externally applied force has been removed.

Abstract: A system and method for removing unwanted heat generated by a piezoelectric element of an ultrasound transducer. Some implementations have high thermal conductivity (HTC) material placed adjacent to the piezoelectric element. The HTC material can be thermally coupled to one or more heat sinks. Use of HTC material in conjunction with these piezoelectric element surfaces is managed to avoid degradation of propagating acoustic energy. Use of the HTC material in conjunction with heat sinks allows for creation of thermal paths away from the piezoelectric element. Active cooling of the heat sinks with water or air can further draw heat from the piezoelectric element. Further implementations form a composite matrix of thermally conductive material or interleave thermally conductive layers with piezoelectric material.

Abstract: Disclosed is a structural vibration damping device, which comprises a piezoelectric element adapted to be mounted on a structure, a shunt circuit inserted between two electrodes of the piezoelectric element, and an electric circuit for selectively opening and closing the shunt circuit. In this damping device, the electric circuit is operable, when a voltage between the electrodes of the piezoelectric element has a positive or negative extreme value due to a vibration of the structure, to close the shunt circuit so as to allow a current to flow between the electrodes of the piezoelectric element, and, when the current is reduced to zero, to open the shunt circuit so as to preclude the current flow until a voltage between the electrodes of the piezoelectric element subsequently has the extreme value. Further, each of the shunt circuit and the electric circuit is designed to be operated using only a power generated by the piezoelectric element.
