Abstract: A woven or interlaced electronic system for electronic EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio Frequency Interference) filtering and for Transient Voltage Suppression. This filtering system consists of two diverse types of flexible and electrically conductive wires that are woven or interlaced into a fabric through the use of textile technologies and/or practices. The primary wire is a flexible or bendable, conductive core, single or double clad, edifice which promotes one direction of electron flow across the woven material (the “warp” of the fabric). The succeeding wire 12 is of a conventional, flexible, single or multiple strands, non-insulated type which promotes a divergent direction of electron flow across the woven material (the “weft” of the fabric).

Abstract: A selectively protected electrical system includes or operates with a power source, a load, a power driver circuit for controllably transferring power from the power source to the load, the power driver circuit being encapsulated in a potting material, and a controller for enabling and disabling the power driver circuit, the controller being un-encapsulated by the potting material. If a contaminant induced electrical fault occurs in the selectively protected electrical system, the electrical fault is more likely to occur in the un-encapsulated controller, such that the selectively protected electrical system is disabled. The contaminant is inhibited from contacting and inducing an electrical fault in the power driver circuit, thus providing for a controlled failure of the selectively protected electrical system.

Abstract: A heat spreader and method for thermal management of a computer memory module by promoting natural convection cooling of the memory module. The heat spreader includes a frame surrounding a planar body adapted to be mounted to a memory module of a computer, and a grid defined in the planar body by a plurality of uniformly distributed perforations. The perforations extend through the planar body to allow natural convention between an interior space beneath the planar body and an exterior space above the planar body.

Abstract: A system for housing electronic components includes an enclosure with an interior, a door for accessing the interior, and a chassis. The components are attached to the chassis, which is pivotally connected to the enclosure for movement between retracted and deployed positions. In the former, the chassis lies within the interior. In the latter, it lies rotated or swung out the front of the enclosure, allowing for the components to be accessed while minimizing the depth/size of the enclosure. The enclosure includes an air intake in the base of the enclosure, and air exhaust ports in the rear of the enclosure, both protected by baffles/louvers. Air is drawn through the intake (using a fan), up through the interior for cooling purposes, and out the rear of the enclosure through the exhaust ports. This pathway has been found to minimize the ingress of sprayed liquid, for compliance with IEC IP44.

Abstract: A heat-dissipating structure inside a computer mainframe comprising an air-guiding mask installed either to the side board of a mainframe case or above the heat dissipation module of CPU; when mainframe case is used together with different mother boards, the CPU location within the mother board is expected to change accordingly, but the air-guiding mask can be correlated effectively to the heat-dissipating holes on the mainframe case, cold air can be introduced into the mainframe to dissipate heat, hot air within the mainframe case can be prevented from back flowing into the heat-dissipating module installed above CPU, CPU temperature can therefore be lowered; meanwhile, when air-guiding mask is installed in the mainframe case, a baffle can be installed at the gap between the air-guiding mask and heat-dissipating module such that hot air back flow can be greatly reduced and cold air from exterior can cool CPU directly.

Abstract: A test device for a heat dissipating fan, which is suitable for testing if the fan wheel is secured to the housing firmly, includes a support post, a transverse slide unit, which is disposed at the top of the support post and provides a transverse slide seat, a vertical slide unit, which is disposed at the transverse slide seat and provides a vertical slide seat. Further, the test device provides a clamping unit, a suction unit and a sensing element, which are moved with the vertical slide seat. The clamping unit clamps the housing and the suction unit absorbs the fan wheel. The heat dissipating fan is admitted in case of the sensing unit sensing the fan wheel being incapable of moving upward under the suction force and is carried away by the transverse slide unit in case of the sensing unit sensing the fan wheel being capable of moving upward under the suction force.

The linear power supply includes a casing having a containing space disposed therein and at least one heat dissipating portion, and the containing space includes a circular coil and a circuit board electrically connected to the circular coil. With the foregoing measures, the linear power supply of the invention is lighter in weight, smaller in size, and better in heat dissipation than the prior art power supply that employs a silicon steel core.

Abstract: A heat sink is disclosed that includes a set of horizontal fins that are coupled to multiple solid vertical panels. A fan is located near the heat sink to direct air across the surface of the horizontal fins. Vertical panels may be located on the opposite ends of the heat sink to prevent air from exiting from the heat sink in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of the fan. The presence of the vertical panels within the interior of the heat sink is advantageous because the vertical panels direct the forced air from the fan so that the air flows through the fan in the direction of the axis of the fan.
