Publication number: 20070160056Abstract: When congestion occurs in a RAN in a cell phone VoIP service, calls using the congested device are detected to permit generation of a restriction in call by call units. The congested device notifies call connection data passing through it to a PDSN, the PDSN finds the IP address of the terminal using the target connection, and notifies a CSCF as a restriction target terminal. The CSCF, in call connection processing, determines whether the calling/called sending/receiving user is the restriction target, and if so, determines whether or not the call should be connected with priority from subscriber data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Norihisa MATSUMOTO, Koji Watanabe, Naruhito Nakahara

Publication number: 20070160061Abstract: A technique dynamically splits Traffic Engineering (TE) Label Switched Paths (LSPs) in a computer network. According to the novel technique, a head-end node may determine that a TE-LSP to a destination needs to be sized to a larger bandwidth (a “larger” TE-LSP) than currently available over a single path to the destination (e.g., a path that may also be required to meet other constraints, such as cost, delay, etc.). In response, the head-end node may dynamically “split” the larger TE-LSP, and create a first split TE-LSP over a best (e.g., shortest) available path (e.g., that meets other constraints). The first split TE-LSP may reserve a maximum available bandwidth for that best available path. The head-end node may then continue recursively creating subsequent split TE-LSPs for any remaining bandwidth of the larger TE-LSP over available paths until the larger TE-LSP may no longer be split (e.g., all bandwidth has been placed, configurable maximum number of splits reached, etc.).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Jean-Philippe Vasseur, Jeff Apcar

Publication number: 20070160062Abstract: The invention relates to network based content inspection (NBCI). More specifically, the invention provides systems and methods for improved NBCI in complex networks that are typical for enterprises and service providers. These networks are shared by large numbers of concurrent users who send and retrieve application content of various sizes via a variety of communication protocols. This invention improves the efficiency of the NBCI of an individual communication session by learning from the processing results of other communication sessions which may be carried via different network protocols. In addition, the invention provides methods that do not weaken the overall security for the network and that improve the stability of NBCI systems by minimizing the risk of system resource exhaustion if subjected to a burst of large payloads. The invention also improves perceived network stability by preventing the system resources from being “live-locked” by a few large content inspection tasks.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Isao Morishita, Hongwen Zhang, Husam Kinawi

Publication number: 20070160063Abstract: Approaches are disclosed for switching transport protocol connection keys. A first node sends a keychange request message to a second node, causing the second node to accept subsequent messages digitally signed with a first or second key. The second node sends an acknowledgment message to the first node, causing the first node to accept subsequent messages digitally signed with the first or second key. The first node receives a new message digitally signed with the second key from the second node and determines that there are no remaining messages to be received digitally signed with the first key. In response thereto, the first node only accepts messages digitally signed with the second key and sends a message signed with the second key to the second node, causing the second node to only accept messages digitally signed with the second key.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Satish Mynam, Anantha Ramaiah, Chandrashekhar Appanna

Publication number: 20070160094Abstract: A thermal nonlinear cell and method. The cell includes a substantially planar nonlinear medium and a mechanism for removing thermal energy from the medium in a direction substantially orthogonal to said medium. In one embodiment, the mechanism for removing thermal energy is a thermally conductive window mounted adjacent to the medium. Preferably, the mechanism includes plural thermally conductive windows between which the nonlinear medium is disposed. In the best mode, the windows are sapphire and the nonlinear medium is a fluid. The windows and the medium are transmissive with respect to first and second beams that interfere with each other and create an interference pattern in the cell. The interference pattern is sampled by a sampling hologram created within the multiple layers of the medium. The interference pattern is used via a sampling hologram to create a phase conjugate of a signal beam. The windows move thermal energy from the medium in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Alexander Betin, N. Publication number: 20070160095Abstract: This invention provides an automatic power control (APC) circuit for keeping an extinction ratio constant even when the efficiency of a laser diode (LD) deteriorates. The APC circuit according to this invention stores first control data for deciding the relationship between a bias current Ib and a modulation current Im so that the extinction ratio under a certain target power is a predetermined value. A central processing unit (CPU) decides the bias current Ib and modulation current Im on the basis of a current optical output power and the first control data and supplies them to an LD driver. The APC circuit also stores second control data for deciding the correction value for the optical output power corresponding to the temperature of the LD. The CPU acquires the current temperature before deciding the bias current Ib, decides a correction value corresponding to the current temperature according to the second control data, and corrects the target power.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Kentaro Kitagawa, Hiroto Ishibashi

Publication number: 20070160098Abstract: Plural LDs 6 are series-connected and pump a solid-state pumping medium 7. Each of bypass circuits 15 is connected in parallel to an associated one of the LDs 6. An operation of driving each of the bypass circuits 15 is controlled by a control circuit 14. A detection circuit 13 is provided corresponding to each of the LDs 6 and detects a short circuit failure and an open failure of each of the LDs 6 according to a voltage developed thereacross or the like. The detection circuit 13 and the control circuit 14 are connected to and are controlled by an LD shortcircuit control circuit 11. In a case where a failure of the LD is detected by the detection circuit 13, the LD shortcircuit control unit 11 determines the position of the failed LD to bypass electric current having flowed through the failed LD. Then, the control circuit 11 sends a signal to a predetermined control circuit 14 to thereby operate a predetermined bypass circuit 15.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2004Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventor: Takeshi Morimoto
