  • Patent number: 7471012
Abstract: In a path along which lines extend between an engine room and a trunk room, the distance between the line 34 and the line 36 is made smaller than the distance between the line 32 and the line 34. Further, the distance between the line 36 and the line 38 is made smaller than the distance between the line 32 and the line 38. Even if a conductive member damages the lines upon collision of a vehicle, the lines 34 and 38 transmitting signals for control of the relays are more likely to be short-circuited with the line 36 to attain a ground potential than to be short-circuited with the line 32 to attain a power supply potential +B. This can lower the probability that the system main relays, once controlled to an open state upon collision, become conductive again after the collision.

  • Patent number: 7471014
Abstract: A powered device, such as an IP telephone, includes power converter electronics that allows the powered device to couple to multiple power sources and receive a relatively large amount of power (e.g., 15 W or greater) from any single power source or from any combination of the power sources. For example, the powered device can connect to a first power source and a second power source by a cable having four twisted pairs of conductors where a first two-pair set of conductors couples the powered device to the first power source and a second two-pair set of conductors couples the powered device to the second powered device. In use, the converter circuitry can provide power to the load from either the first power source via the first two-pair set of conductors, the second power source via the second two-pair set of conductors, or from both power sources via both the first and second two-pair sets of conductors.

  • Patent number: 7471019
Abstract: Apparatus and associated systems or methods include a linear machine with an elongate, axially-slidable core member (i.e., shaft). In one embodiment, the shaft includes at least one radial aperture to provide fluid (e.g., air) communication from an interior volume of a winding tube that contains one or more stationary windings, to either end of the shaft through a lumen that extends axially through the length of the shaft. The stationary windings are spaced apart to permit fluid to flow through a plurality of radial apertures in the winding tube. In particular, fluid circulation across the windings may provide sufficient cooling to increase the machine's maximum current rating. • Patent number: 7471020
Abstract: A linear actuator, preferably for sickbeds and beds for domestic use, comprises a reversible electric motor (2) which, via a reduction gear, drives a spindle (4) with a nut (5) secured against rotation so that an activating element (6) connected with the nut is moved to and fro in response to the direction of rotation of the motor. In an emergency, the actuator may be driven manually with a hand crank, as a rear attachment, with which the actuator is secured, has a longitudinal opening in the longitudinal axis of the spindle, whereby the hand crank may be caused to engage the spindle. For this purpose, a shaft member is mounted in the rear attachment, said shaft member being engaged with the spindle and protruding rearwards from the rear attachment with one end. Control of the motor typically takes place via an H-bridge so that the motor does not short-circuit when the actuator is operated manually, it is ensured that the motor is not self-locking when the actuator is operated manually.

  • Patent number: 7471025
Abstract: A stator assembly has discrete stacks of laminations. A plurality of nonmagnetic containment structures define pockets. The stacks are at least partially received in the pockets and coupled to one another by the containment structure. The containment structures are moveable between a first configuration in which the stacks are separate from one another and a second configuration in which yokes of adjacent stacks are in physical contact with one another. In a method of making a stator assembly, a plurality of stator segments are positioned so each is received in one of a plurality of pockets in a containment structure. Coils are wound around each stator segment while the containment structure prevents the stator segment from having direct physical contact with another stator segment. The containment structure is reconfigured to bring the wound stator segments into contact with one another, thereby forming a closed magnetic circuit.

  • Patent number: 7471047
Abstract: At a primary power-supply board 40, a Vsus power supply and a Vadd power supply of prescribed voltages are derived and outputted to a plasma display panel 11. Secondary power supplies Vsub1, Vsub2, and Vsub3 are derived from prescribed voltage levels of a transformer 42 for deriving Vsus and Vadd power supplies at the primary power-supply board 40. The secondary power supplies Vsub1, Vsub2, and Vsub3 are outputted to a secondary power-supply board 20 which is a board different from the primary power-supply board 40. Vset, Ve, and Vscan power supplies which can be used by the plasma display panel 11 are derived by regulating the secondary power supplies Vsub1, Vsub2, and Vsub3. Thus, since the primary power-supply board 40 and the secondary power-supply board 20 are provided separately, the secondary power-supply board 20 alone can be replaced to cope with the changes of the plasma display panel 11.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-beam klystron apparatus. In the above-described multi-beam klystron apparatus, the magnetic field generating element of the electron-gun-unit-side magnetic field generating unit is disposed around the electron gun unit, and a plurality of magnetic gaps are provided in the inner peripheral surface of the magnetic pole, which covers the magnetic field generating element, in the direction of travel of the electron beams. Therefore, lines of magnetic force, which are parallel to the center axis of the radio-frequency interaction unit, can be generated. Thus, even the electron beam, which is generated from the location apart from the center axis of the electron gun unit, can be guided to the radio-frequency interaction unit in the same manner as in the location at the canter axis of the electron gun unit.
