Abstract: A static sealing element (1) includes an elastic tapered washer (10) the deformation of which enables a force to be transmitted, a casing (18) to establish the seal, and two supporting washers (27 and 28) which transmit the forces originating from the elastic washer (10) to the curved edges (20, 21) of the casing (18) so as to exert on them a pressure which maintains the seal. The casing (18) made thus be manufactured from a ductile material, but one which is less deformable than the customary elastomers.

The portion to be detected and a pulsar ring mounting portion are arranged so as to form continuous planar surfaces. The pulsar ring is rigidly mounted on a mounting boss of a wheel using a bolt by fastening a brake disc wherein the pulsar ring overlaps with the brake disc mounting portion. Even when the brake disc thermally deforms at the time of braking so that the pulsar ring mounting portion is pulled radially outwardly, the portion to be detected and the pulsar ring mounting portion are arranged on the same plane thus forming the continuous planar surfaces. Thus, the portion to be detected is hardly twisted with hardly any deformation of the portion to be detected.

Abstract: An internal tube is inserted into an external tube to align first bolt holes provided through opposed walls of the external tube with second bolt holes provided through opposed walls of the internal tube. A bolt is inserted through the first bolt holes and through the second bolt holes to connect the tubes together when the bolt holes are aligned. An error-proofing clip is mounted in the internal tube and has a tongue extending from the end thereof to reach into the external tube and block the insertion of the bolt through the first bolt holes of the external tube until the insertion of the internal tube has proceeded fully to bring the first bolt holes of the external tube and the second bolt holes of the internal tube into alignment with one another, thereby preventing a premature installation of the bolt through only the first bolt holes.

Abstract: The invention is a pipe joint that is particularly suitable for joining pipes composed of materials having a low surface energy and excellent resistance to solvents. The major components are an extrudable adhesive; a first pipe having a socket with an inside diameter, where said socket has a mouth, a self-centering bottom, and a substantially cylindrical wall with an inlet, an outlet, and an inner annular channel; a second pipe having an insertion section with an end and an outer annular channel, said second pipe having an outside diameter that is less than the inside diameter of the socket, where the difference in diameters defines a gap and where the outer annular channel lines up with the inner annular channel therein forming an interlocking keyway; and a flanged annular ring, where said annular ring has an inside diameter that enables it to be slid over the second pipe and a thickness that is comparable to the gap, and where the flange has a width that is sufficient to cap the mouth of the socket.

Abstract: A wind energy plant comprising a rotor having blades and a generator driven by said rotor for generating electric energy. The pitch of the blades can be adjusted and a pitch system for adjusting the pitch angle of the blades is provided, which is supplied by a hub power source. An additional electric load is provided on the hub. A pitch power control device is provided which dynamically distributes the power of the hub power source between the pitch system and the additional electric load and further acts on the pitch system such that the power consumption thereof during high-load operation is reduced. Thus, the power consumption of the pitch system during high-load operation can be reduced and additional power provided for operating the additional load. Even high-performance additional loads, such as a blade heater, can be operated in this way, without having to boost the hub power source.

Abstract: A wind energy installation having a wind rotor, a generator which is driven thereby and interacts with a converter in order to produce electrical power, rotation-speed regulation and converter control which interacts therewith, wherein the rotation-speed regulation outputs a nominal rotation speed signal (nref). Furthermore, additional regulation is provided, which has an input for an additional power and is designed to produce a rotation speed change signal therefrom, taking account of a rotator inertia moment, and to output this as an output signal, which is added to the nominal rotation speed signal via a logic element. Kinetic energy is taken from the wind rotor in a controlled manner by reducing the rotation speed and is converted by the generator to additional electrical energy. This allows primary regulation power to be made available deliberately by rotation speed variation, to be precise even in unsteady wind conditions.

Abstract: A wind power excitation synchronous generation system and a control method thereof are disclosed. In this control method, dual input shafts and a single output shaft of a gear transmission mechanism are used, and two kinds of inputted energy, such as wind energy and servo motor control power, are integrated, so as to allow the output shaft to drive an excitation synchronous generator to generate electric power. In this system, a rotation speed and a phase of a servo motor are controlled, so as to allow the excitation synchronous generator to output the electric power with a frequency and a phase identical to the utility grid. Furthermore, a control circuit for maximum power tracking is used to control an excitation current of the excitation synchronous generator for achieving a stable voltage, the maximum outputted wind energy and the minimum energy consumption of the servo motor.
