Publication number: 20130286790Abstract: The invention is an electric sweep type seismic vibrator source of the type used in seismic prospecting for hydrocarbons. The source uses an engine and generator combination to create electric power for all systems on the source such as driving a frame of linear electric motors that direct a rod or piston to contact the ground in a recurring fashion along with driving the source from location to location through a survey area. Preferably a foot is arranged on the bottom end of the rod or piston for contact with the ground and by engaging the grid of motors to push down against the ground to create impulses that deliver acoustic seismic energy into the earth for geophones to sense and record. However, the pulses of seismic energy are delivered in a distinctive fashion where different linear motors are deliberately and concurrently providing different signals that create a distinctive composite signature or signal that can be identified in the data record for source separation purpose.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: CONOCOPHILLIPS COMPANYInventors: Peter M. Publication number: 20130286792Abstract: A second housing 200 is capable of moving in a direction in which the second housing covers one surface of a first housing 100. Oscillating elements of an oscillating element group 400 are arranged in a matrix and oscillate sound waves outward from the one surface of the first housing 100. A control unit controls the plurality of oscillating elements. A sound wave sensor constitutes the same matrix as the plurality of oscillating elements and detects sound waves having a specific wavelength. The detection results of the sound wave sensor are output to the control unit. A frame body holds the plurality of oscillating elements and the sound wave sensor. The control unit oscillates sensor sound waves having a specific wavelength outward from at least one of the oscillating elements. The control unit determines that the second housing 200 covers the one surface of the first housing 100 when the sound wave sensor detects the sound waves having the specific wavelength.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2011Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Yuichiro Kishinami, Yasuharu Onishi, Motoyoshi Komoda, Nobuhiro Kawashima, Yukio Murata, Jun Kuroda, Shigeo Satou

Publication number: 20130286830Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically balancing traffic loads in a communications system (such as satellite communications systems), based on a control of collision rates via the real-time control of throughput of channels of the communications system (such as a real time throughput of random access channels in a satellite network). The method and apparatus generates and transmits to remote nodes or terminals an operating probability based on the determined throughput for transmission using the communications channel. Also, the method and apparatus includes receiving by at least one terminal the generated operating probability and determining by the at least one terminal a transmission probability for the communications channel based upon the received operating probability, which can further be adjusted by one or more of a received upper or lower limit of the generated operating probability or a collision rate for the communications channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Hughes Network Systems, LLCInventors: Jun Xu, John Border, Robert Torres, George Choquette

Publication number: 20130286832Abstract: In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein an apparatus comprising an ingress interface, an egress interface, and a storm controller coupled to the ingress interface and the egress interface. The storm controller is operable to determine whether to forward packets for a traffic flow received at the ingress interface to the egress interface based on a rate over a time period. The storm controller forwards packets for the traffic flow while the rate exceeds a first threshold and is less than a second threshold while a predefined condition exits. The storm controller limits traffic for the traffic flow to the first threshold while the rate exceeds the first threshold and the predefined condition does not exist.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Rajesh Amaresh Rajah, Amit Surendra Singh, Khalil A. Publication number: 20130286833Abstract: A system and method for association of remote nodes with respective aggregation nodes in a high capacity shared bandwidth communications network, which meets various requirements and desires associated with efficient, robust, reliable and flexible broadband services, and which is relatively efficient and automated from a network management and load balancing standpoint, is provided. A remote node receives a message transmitted by a gateway over the communications network, wherein the message includes service codes identifying one or more service capabilities of the gateway. The remote node determines, based on the service codes, whether the gateway is an eligible gateway for servicing one or more service requirements of the remote node. The remote node then adds the gateway to a pool of eligible gateways within the communications network.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Hughes Network Systems, LLCInventors: Robert Torres, George Choquette, John Border, Vivek Gupta

Publication number: 20130286835Abstract: Systems and methods for utilizing transaction boundary detection methods in queuing and retransmission decisions relating to network traffic are described. By detecting transaction boundaries and sizes, a client, server, or intermediary device may prioritize based on transaction sizes in queuing decisions, giving precedence to smaller transactions which may represent interactive and/or latency-sensitive traffic. Further, after detecting a transaction boundary, a device may retransmit one or more additional packets prompting acknowledgements, in order to ensure timely notification if the last packet of the transaction has been dropped. Systems and methods for potentially improving network latency, including retransmitting a dropped packet twice or more in order to avoid incurring additional delays due to a retransmitted packet being lost are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Citirx Systems, Inc.Inventor: Citirx Systems, Inc.

Publication number: 20130286839Abstract: The present solution is related to a method for distributing flows of network traffic across a plurality of packet processing engines executing on a corresponding core of a multi-core device. The method includes receiving, by a multi-core device intermediary to clients and servers, a packet of a first flow of network traffic between a client and server. The method also includes assigning, by a flow distributor of the multi-core device, the first flow of network traffic to a first core executing a packet processing engine and distributing the packet to this core. The flow distributor may distribute packets of another or second flow of traffic between another client and server to a second core executing a second packet processing engine. When a packet for the flow of traffic assigned to the first core is received, such as a third packet, the flow distributor distributes this packet to the first core.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Rajiv Mirani, Rajiv Sinha, Abhishek Chauhan, Anil Shetty
