Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a power control method and a base station. The method includes: obtaining, by a base station, INPUCCH(i), where the INPUCCH(i) is average interference noise power of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) carried by radio resources that are allocated by the base station at a subframe i; and sending, by the base station, a parameter PO—NOMINAL—PUCCH(i) for power control at the subframe i. In the embodiments of the present invention, the base station may send a more accurate parameter to a UE, so that PUCCH transmit power which is at the subframe i and calculated by the UE is more accurate, and network interference caused by increasing the PUCCH transmit power is further reduced.

Abstract: According to the invention data in a number of logical downlink intended for one or more mobile terminals are received in a first mapping unit, where at least a first High Speed Radio Network Temporary identity is allocated to these logical downlink channels addressing a group of mobile terminals for allowing transmission of channel data for reception by mobile terminals. A mobile terminal then reads, from a Broadcast Control Channel, necessary information including a High Speed Radio Network Temporary identity allocated to at least one logical downlink channel, where at least said first identity exists among possible identities. It then listens to a high speed shared control channel for the read identity. A wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU) determines whether to offload an IP traffic flow from the mobile network to the local network based on the destination address of the IP traffic flow. Abstract: Resources are reserved for handover signaling. Handover reliability is thereby improved since the primary interference for handover signaling will be from the handover signaling of nearby cells (e.g., as opposed to data traffic). Given the relatively sparse nature of handover signaling, a significant reduction in interference may be achieved in a network employing this technique in comparison to conventional networks. In some implementations, a set of neighboring access points cooperate to determine which resources are reserved for handover signaling. In some implementations, resources for handover signaling are reserved on a network-wide basis or an access point cluster-wide basis.

Abstract: Aspects of the invention described herein may enable a greenfield access mode in IEEE 802.11n WLAN systems in comparison to an alternative approach that may not provide greenfield access. The utilization of greenfield access may reduce the portion of time required to transmit data due to overhead comprising preamble fields and header fields. This may enable higher data throughput rates to be achieved. This may further enable more robust transmission of data by enabling comparable data rates to be maintained while reducing the coding rate of encoded transmitted data. The reduction of the coding rate may enable comparable data rates to be maintained for transmission via RF channels characterized by lower SNR while still achieving desired target levels of packet error rates. In another aspect of the invention, mixed mode access may be achieved while reducing the portion of time required for transmitting data due to overhead.

Abstract: Techniques for bundling acknowledgement (ACK) information in a wireless communication system are described. In one design, a user equipment (UE) may receive multiple codewords in at least one downlink subframe. The UE may decode the multiple codewords and determine an ACK or a negative acknowledgement (NACK) for each codeword based on decoding result. The UE may bundle the ACKs and NACKs for the multiple codewords to obtain bundled ACK information. In one design, the UE may generate (i) a bundled ACK if ACKs are obtained for all codewords or (ii) a bundled NACK if a NACK is obtained for any codeword. The UE may send the bundled ACK information as feedback for the multiple codewords. The UE may receive retransmissions of the multiple codewords if a bundled NACK is sent and may receive new codewords if a bundled ACK is sent.

Abstract: Among other things, a communication system comprising remote units, a reference timing source, a controller, a controller clock, and a remote unit clock. The remote units exchange radio frequency (RF) signals with mobile devices. The reference timing source is synchronized with a coordinated universal time (UTC) or a Global Positioning System (GPS). The controller clock is synchronized with the reference timing source and provides timing information to the controller. The remote unit clock is synchronized with the controller clock and provides timing information to a remote unit. The controller and the remote unit are configured to transmit time stamp messages to synchronize the controller clock and the remote unit clock, by avoiding contention between time stamp transmissions and baseband data transmissions or between time stamp transmissions of different remote units to the controller.

The dynamic adjustment can be dynamically or adaptively adjusting a margin of error to account for drift that may have occurred since a prior synchronization event. Adjustments might be done by applying a learning sequence to quantify and adjust for static or slowly varying delays between the timebases and coordinating the timebases using output of the learning sequence.
