Publication number: 20140219425Abstract: The invention generally relates to systems, devices, and methods for testing communication lines. In certain aspects, the invention provides systems and devices that include a digital/analog converter configured to operate with a computer processor and memory to send or receive an analog signal over a communication line that includes a plurality of signals having known frequencies. Inbound receiving sub-systems or devices sample the analog signal and measure a quality of the sampled, digital signal to evaluate the communication line. The key differentiator is the recognition that the human mouth and ear are intrinsically analog without encryption. By locating the test device as close to the user as possible, this system incorporates testing of complex communication streams including numerous variables and transforms (e.g. encryption, Analog to digital, Voice over IP, packet switching, ATM, SONET). Ultimately, it provides a simple interface to convert qualitative analysis to quantitative (numerical) analysis.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2014Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: INTELLIGENT DECISIONS, INC.Inventors: Roy Stephan, Steve Anderson, Greg Eoyang, Tim Lannan

Publication number: 20140219449Abstract: A node in a first network requests a communication channel from a second network. Upon receiving a channel assignment, nodes in the first network employ the assigned channel for communicating in a manner that is transparent to the second network. A transmitting node selects a decoy data signal as a carrier signal, synthesizes data-bearing channel distortions; and distorts the carrier signal with the channel distortions prior to transmission. An undistorted version of the decoy data may be transmitted to an intended receiver. The receiver distinguishes between the synthesized data-bearing channel distortions and natural channel distortions to decrypt the data. In a MIMO system, the transmitter generates a MIMO precoding matrix from a message to be sent to the receiver and multiplies the decoy data signal vector with the MIMO precoding matrix.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2013Publication date: August 7, 2014Inventors: Steve J. Publication number: 20140219469Abstract: An on-request wireless audio data streaming system is configured for providing on-request wireless audio data streaming to one or more wireless device apps on one or more wireless devices. The system comprises a directory server, audio capture interfaces and a wireless interface. The directory server coordinates the various components of the system. The audio capture interface obtains audio signals from sources of audio signals. The directory server maintains a list of available audio signals and broadcasts the list via the wireless interface. Wireless device apps receive the list, present it to their users. A user can select one of the available audio signals and request a subscription to it. The directory server maintains a list of the subscribed audio signals and associated subscribers. The audio capture interfaces generate and transmit via the wireless interface the audio data streams of the subscribed audio signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2014Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: WAVLYNX, LLCInventors: Jordan H. Publication number: 20140219471Abstract: An audio device may use the audio detected at two opposite facing, front and rear omnidirectional microphones to determine the angular directional location of a user's voice while the device in speaker mode or audio command input mode. The angular directional location may be determined to be at front, side and rear locations of the device during the period of time by calculating an energy ratio of audio signals output by the front and rear microphones during the period. Comparing the ratio to experimental data for sound received from different directions around the device may provide the location of the user's voice. Based on the determination, audio beamforming input settings may be adjusted for user voice beamforming. As a result, the device can perform better beamforming to combine the signals captured by the microphones and generate a single output that isolates the user's voice from background noise.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Ashrith Deshpande, Andrew P.
