Publication number: 20160258907Abstract: The present invention provides for systems and methods for acquiring acoustic information from a resonating body. Specifically, a focused light beam is emitted from an emitter module onto an impedance matching reflector. The impedance matching reflector has similar wave propagation characteristics to the resonating body, so as to capture a mechanical vibrations thereof. The impedance matching reflector reflects the focused light beam as it vibrates, and the vibrations are captured by a receiver module through the reflected light beam, which is converted to an input signal. The input signal may be further processed and converted to an audio output signal, as an accurate representation of the acoustic information emanating from within the resonating body.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2015Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: JOSEPH G. Publication number: 20160258910Abstract: The invention describes the process by which a standard mixture of organic compounds are spiked and retained onto a composite sorbent matrix for the controlled generation of a standard in fluid above the spiked matrix either in gas (headspace) or aqueous phase which is contained in portable vials. The novelty of the aforementioned composite matrix stems from the combination of an immobilizing liquid phase such as silicone oil or a polyacrylonitrile solution, and solid, porous particles such as polystyrene-co-divinylbenzene (PS-DVB) or Hydrophilic/Lipophilic Balance (HLB) particles to strongly retain the spiked standards facilitating high capacity which translates into prolonged use as a source of calibrant. These novel composite mixtures exhibit sorptive capabilities greater than the sum of their individual components producing a standard analyte generator far superior to those described in the prior art.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2015Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: Jonathan James Grandy, German Augusto Gomez-Rios, Janusz Boleslaw Pawliszyn

Publication number: 20160258951Abstract: The human HLA-A2:1g dimer molecule is a recombinant protein comprising a mouse IgG antibody fused with two human MHC Class I HLA-A2 molecules. Any peptide (usually 8-10 amino acids in length) can be loaded into the peptide-binding groove of the two HLA molecules, for example, by incubating a mixture of the dimer and peptide solution overnight. The resulting N peptide-specific HLA-A2:1g dimer mixture can then be added to PBMCs from peripheral blood samples in order to detect CD8 T lymphocytes which express T cell receptors that are capable of specifically interacting with and binding to the peptide HLA-A2:1g dimer molecules. The presence of such specific binding activity and interactions can then be detected by additional staining with fluorescence-conjugated antibodies.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2014Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: Sathibalan Ponniah, George E. Publication number: 20160258952Abstract: This present invention relates to a method for selecting an antigen-specific hybridomas comprising catching a monoclonal antibody secreted from a hybridoma by using a plasma cell's cell-surface expression molecular on the surface of the hybridoma, providing an antigen with a label to react with the hybridoma, and selecting the hybridoma expressing the label to obtain an antigen-specific hybridoma. In other words, the hybridoma can express the label because of the monoclonal antibody combining with the antigen. Accordingly, the method of this present invention can quickly select the antigen-specific hybridoma.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2016Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventor: Chih-Hsuan LAI

Publication number: 20160258954Abstract: A method of diagnosing a subset of Epstein Barr Virus, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) patients through a multi-prong clinical/serological analysis is provided wherein Epstein Barr Virus Abortive Lytic Replication (EBV) is determined by detecting the presence of BMRF1 in serum antibody assays. A method of treating patients diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus Abortive Lytic Replication (EBV), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) with specific antiviral nucleosides is also provided, to alleviate the condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2016Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventor: A. Publication number: 20160258956Abstract: The present disclosure provides high-performance immunoreagents for use in a variety of immunologic assays and other related techniques. The immunoreagents comprise a primary antibody and a bridging antigen, wherein the bridging antigen is recognized by a detectable secondary antibody with high affinity. Also provided are compositions comprising panels of immunoreagents specific for multiple different target antigens and compositions comprising pairs of primary immunoreagents and their complementary detectable secondary antibodies. The paired primary immunoreagents and secondary antibodies are useful in a variety of immunologic assays, particularly in highly multiplexed assays, where the structure of the bridging antigen is varied in tandem with variation in the detectable secondary antibody, such that a multiplicity of immunoreagents are provided that are capable of simultaneously detecting a multiplicity of target antigens in a single assay.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2016Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventor: David A.
