Abstract: Methods and devices for treating erectile dysfunction are disclosed. Methods are aimed at reducing blood outflow from penile tissue by delivering energy to specific penile tissue that controls blood outflow from the penile tissue and causing remodeling of the specific penile tissue. Devices may be configured to generate RF energy and to apply the generated RF energy to a penis to thereby elevate a temperature of internal penile tissue above a predetermined temperature value while maintaining a penile surface below a predetermined temperature threshold. The predetermined temperature value may be set to initiate synthesis and/or a regeneration of collagen fibers in a collagen-rich penile connective tissue and/or to increase oxygenation of endothelial cells, initiate angiogenesis and neovascularization in a vascular penile tissue. Additionally, electrical penile stimulation is disclosed, possibly applicable in conjuncture with the erectile dysfunction treatment.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed in which an external device such as a consumer mobile device (e.g., smart phone) is used as an external controller to bi-directionally communicate with an Implantable Medical Device (IMD) using a dedicated patient remote control (RC) as an intermediary device to translate communications between the two. The dedicated RC contains a graphical user interface allowing for control and monitoring of the IMD even if the mobile device is not present in the system, which is useful as a back-up should the mobile device experience problems. Use of the dedicated RC as an intermediary device broadens the utility of other computing devices to operate as an external controller for an IMD even if the computing device and IMD do not have compliant communication means.

Abstract: In embodiments, a wearable cardiac defibrillator system includes an energy storage module configured to store a charge. Two electrodes can be configured to be applied to respective locations of a patient. One or more reservoirs can store one or more conductive fluids. Respective fluid deploying mechanisms can be configured to cause the fluids to be released from one or more of the reservoirs, which decreases the impedance at the patient location, and decreases discomfort for the patient. In some embodiments an impedance is sensed between the two electrodes, and the stored charge is delivered when the sensed impedance meets a discharge condition. In some embodiments, different fluids are released for different patient treatments. In some embodiments, fluid release is controlled to be in at least two doses, with an intervening pause.

Abstract: An interlocking abrasion-protection tool for linemen fall-prevention systems has multiple belay-assistance links which are formed into a chain. The belay-assistance links act as an abrasion-protection sheath for a section of rope that runs over a sharp edge. The belay-assistance links enable a user to lower a lineman who is incapacitated or stuck without endangering other linemen or damaging the linemen-support ropes. To accomplish this, each belay-assistance link has a pair of interlocking mechanisms and multiple rigging channels. The interlocking mechanisms are positioned on opposite sides of the belay-assistance link so that multiple links can be connected in series. Abstract: A method for scheduling and reserving in real-time the use of exercise equipment at a fitness center. One or more processors receive a user profile including data, wherein the data includes medical data, schedule preferences, and fitness goal data of a user. One or more processors compare the user profile to a plurality of profiles included in a repository, wherein individual profiles of the plurality of profiles include medical data, schedule preferences, fitness goal data, and a corresponding workout plan. One or more processors determine whether the user profile matches, to a predetermined degree of similarity, to at least one individual profile. Having determined that the first user profile matches, one or more processors generates a workout plan for the user based on at least one individual profile and the corresponding workout of the profile. One or more processors create a schedule for the workout plan.
