Abstract: Disclosed is a method for qualitative and quantitative determination of key substances in mixture based on terahertz spectrum. Terahertz spectrum of a reference mixture is trained through an SVR algorithm, and predicting parameters of key substances in the mixture to be determined after a model is generated. According to the method, an initial pure spectrum corresponding to each composition in the mixture does not need to be separately determined, no limitation on the number of samples contained in the mixture, and no limitation on frequency range to be determined, and the proportion requirement of the mixture in the early test stage is not limited, and the SVR model does not need to be re-trained after a database is formed in the later stage, and the result can be obtained immediately after the spectrum of item to be determined is introduced into the algorithm model.

Abstract: Methods for transferring a carbon dioxide based separation procedure from a first chromatographic system to a second one involve identifying an average column pressure for the separation in the first system is identified, determining a measured average column pressure for the separation in the second system, and comparing the measured average column pressure with the identified average column pressures. To more closely match the identified average column pressure, the methods involve: (a) altering a cross-sectional area of a column packed with media in the second system; and/or (b) adding makeup fluid along the length of the column in the second system. Columns with the characteristics used in the methods and second chromatographic systems are disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a highly versatile method for amino acid analysis, the method enabling separation and analysis of amino acids in a sample with high precision in a shorter time. This method is a method for amino acid analysis, the method including a step of allowing a sample containing a plurality of amino acids to flow together with an eluent 2 through a separation column 4 packed with a cation exchange resin, thereby separating the amino acids, and a step of detecting the separated amino acids, wherein the eluent 2 is an eluent containing a divalent or higher inorganic acid, a cation source, and water, and having a pH of 5.0 or lower, and the sample is allowed to flow through the separation column 4 heated by applying a temperature gradient including a temperature region of 100° C. or higher.

A product ion extracted ion chroatograms (XIC) is calculated for each precursor ion mass selection window of the two or more precursor ion mass selection windows from the plurality of product ion spectra for each precursor ion mass selection window. Two or more product ion XICs are produced. A two-dimensional binary bit matrix is generated to represent each product ion XIC of the two or more product ion XICs. For each XIC of the two or more product ion XICs, the binary bit matrix is separately initialized with binary values calculated from each XIC and the initialized binary bit matrix is compared with stored information about known compounds to identify known compounds of each XIC.

Abstract: A method and device for detection of bone in meat identifies fragments larger than about 1 mm using spectral optical imaging and ultrasound. Spectral imaging can detect foreign material proximate to the surface and ultrasound can detect material within the sample. The sample is irradiated by light and reflected light or Raman scattered light measured. The sample is similarly irradiated by ultrasound and reflected or transmitted sound waves give a set of amplitude data points, which include temporal delay. These data points are then processed by statistical methods to derive a set of vectors in n-dimensional space, which are compared to a calibrated data set of derived vectors which have distinct identifying loci for each type of surface, are indicative of the presence or absence of defects.
