Abstract: A fiber-based master optical power amplifier (MOPA) is configured to utilize a pump source that operates in pulse mode with the arrival time of the pump pulses coordinated with the arrival time of the input pulses. The width of the pump pulses is also controlled, thus providing a mechanism for controlling both the amount of pump energy injected into the fiber amplifier, as well as the overlap in time between the pump pulse and the seed pulse. As the pulse repetition interval (PRI) of the input seed pulse changes, the timing of the pump pulses and their width are also changed so that a “constant gain” environment is created within the amplifying medium, providing an essentially constant energy output pulse, regardless of differences in ASE generated during different PRIs.

Abstract: A corrected mesa structure for a VCSEL device is particularly configured to compensate for variations in the shape of the created oxide aperture that result from anisotropic oxidation. In particular, a corrected mesa shape is derived by determining the shape of an as-created aperture formed by oxidizing a circular mesa structure, and then ascertaining the compensation required to convert the as-created shape into a desired (“target”) shaped aperture opening. The compensation value is then used to modify the shape of the mesa itself such that a following anisotropic oxidation yields a target-shaped oxide aperture.

Abstract: To provide an ignition apparatus which can turn on and off the sub primary coil according to extension degree of the discharge path of the spark discharge. An ignition apparatus is provided with an ignition coil that is provided with a main primary coil, a sub primary coil which generates energization magnetic flux of a direction opposite to the energization magnetic flux of the main primary coil, and a secondary coil which is magnetically coupled with the main primary coil and the sub primary coil and supplies spark discharge energy to a spark plug; and after turning off energization to the main primary coil, based on a detection value of terminal voltage of the main primary coil, turns on and off the sub switch circuit to turn on and off energization to the sub primary coil and additionally supply spark discharge energy to the secondary coil.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fuse bank design for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system. The disclosed stair-step design enables the positioning of electrical components of the fuse bank in a non-vertically aligned manner, which blocks the accumulation of heat in the upper electrical components as a result of convection heating from the lower components of the fuse bank during operation of the HVAC system. For example, a fuse bank is disclosed for an HVAC system that includes: a mounting surface; a first fuse block including a first fuse holder coupled to the mounting surface; a spacer coupled to the mounting surface vertically below the first fuse block; and a second fuse block including a second fuse holder coupled to the spacer, wherein the spacer offsets the second fuse block from the mounting surface of the fuse bank in a stair-step arrangement.

Abstract: A conduit is formed in a cable (10) having a plurality of wire bundles (12) by removing one or more of the centrally located bundles (12). A bundle (12) is removed by penetrating a wedge (14) into the bundle (12) and then pulling the pierced bundle (12) out of the cable (10). The bundle (12) is then engaged by wheels (18) of a device (17) and pulled out of the cable (10) thereby forming the conduit. The process is repeated dependent on the size of the cable (16) and the desired size of the conduit.

Abstract: Stripping pliers have two outer clamping jaws, two inner cutting jaws and two handle parts, wherein, in the course of pressing together the handle parts, the cutting jaws can be displaced from a starting position into an end position by means of a pull rod against the force of a spring acting on the pull rod. The pull rod is traversed by a pull pin which can move in a slot. In order to configure the stripping pliers such that they are further improved in a manner which is advantageous for handling, the pull rod has, at its handle-side end, a displacement part which is fastened to the pull rod and which is displaceable against the force of the spring relative to the pull rod, to free the pull rod from a handle-side mounting.
