Abstract: A manual activation system includes a bracket rotatable about a first axis between a first configuration and a second configuration and a pulley movable between an inactive position and an active position. The pulley is mounted to the bracket and is rotatable about a second axis. A tension member is wrapped about the pulley and has a tensile force acting on the pulley. An activation member is configured to cooperate with the bracket to selectively oppose the tensile force.

Abstract: Described herein are liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising mixtures of ammonium phosphate fire retardants. Specifically, liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising one or more of monoammonium phosphate (MAP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) are described herein. The ammonium phosphate fire retardant(s) is typically suspended and/or dissolved in a liquid, typically with the fire retardant(s) incorporated into the composition in powder, or granular form. In certain aspects of the present invention, the compositions provided may exhibit one or more advantages as compared to current liquid concentrate fire retardants, including enhanced strength (i.e., a higher proportion of fire retardant component per unit volume), reduced toxicity, and/or reduced corrosion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dumbbell weight training device having a high strength handle assembly adapted to resist damage in the event that the dumbbell is dropped from high above the ground. The handle assembly includes first and opposite disc-shaped collars to which first and second stacks of weight plates are attached. A lifting handle to which a lifting three is applied and a pair of handle reinforcing rods extend in parallel alignment with e another between the first and opposite disc-shaped collars of the handle assembly. The lifting handle and the pair of handle reinforcing rods are arranged in a triangular configuration between the disc-shaped collars. When it is not in use, the dumbbell can be laid on and retained within a dumbbell storage tray having rests upon which the first and second stacks of weight plates and the first and opposite disc-shaped collars are seated.

Abstract: An adaptive weight belt retrofitting which incrementally increases a weight characteristic of a bar weight includes a fabric strap and multiple different metallic plates, each which slidably envelop a portion of the fabric strap so as to permit each of the plates to slide along the fabric strap so as to permit a reconfigurable distance on the fabric strap between each of the plates. Notably, at least one of the plates includes a patch of friction bearing material such that an interior portion of the fabric strap has a fastener adapted for coupling to the friction bearing material. In this way, the adaptive weight belt wraps a circumferential surface of one of two different weighted circumferential structures positioned oppositely along a bar of the bar weight, thereby incrementally increasing the weight characteristic of the bar weight.

Abstract: A motorized lifting rack that selectively lifts and lowers a barbell through linear actuators is provided. The powered lifting rack can engage a barbell at floor level. The linear actuators can also selectively raise and lower safety bars design to “spot” the barbell for a single user. The powered lifting rack is embodied in a system that includes a platform that the safety bars can nest in. The platform provides a plurality of actuating benches for a user of the barbell to utilize.

The belt has an elongated body; a fastener that adjustably fastens the first end and the second end of the body in an overlapping configuration, non-stretch handle straps distributed along the body; and spaced apart elastic straps. The elastic straps each have a first end stitched to the belt and a fastener at the second end that mated to one of the non-stretch strap fasteners. The exercise garment solves back pain by strengthening a person’s core muscles.

Abstract: The invention provides a lower-limb walking rehabilitation trainer, including two supporting frames, two gait simulation mechanisms installed on the two supporting frames respectively, and two pedals installed on the two gait simulation mechanisms respectively. The supporting frames are crutch type supporting frames. The gait simulation mechanisms include a special four-bar linkage and curve amplification mechanism. The four-bar linkage consists of a crank, a first connecting rod, a rocking rod and a rack rod that are articulated end to end. The upper end of the first connecting rod is articulated with the lower end of the second connecting rod in the curve amplification mechanism, the lower end of the third connecting rod in the curve amplification mechanism is articulated with the pedal, the rack rod is relatively fixed to the supporting frame, and the fourth connecting rod is connected to the inner side of the crutch type supporting frame.

In preferred embodiments, the CORE SET™ system discloses a flexible, comfortable belt having a pocket for securely receiving one or more weights and that tightly wraps around the abdomen of an exerciser. The weight is positioned over the abdomen, such that during on-the-back exercises, such as sit ups and crunches, the user's back is stabilized and positioned properly flat on the ground for isolated muscle work outs. Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure describes a system for providing continuous and progressive auditory feedback based on real-time orthopedic sensor data, which includes a plurality of plantar pressure sensors, an audio output device, and a mobile device. The mobile device receives receive, from at least one of the plantar pressure sensors, one or more sensor values indicative of an actual movement of a user during a training session. The mobile device determines, based on an evaluation of the sensor values, a similarity of the actual movement to a target movement. The mobile device modifies, as a function of the similarity of the actual movement to the target movement, an auditory feedback, and causes the audio output device to output the auditory feedback.

Abstract: A self-powered resistance-adjustable training mechanism contains a trainer, a power generator, a transmission unit, and a control module. The trainer is a treadmill, and the trainer includes a chassis fixed on a tilted angle, a first wheel assembly mounted on the first end of the chassis, a second wheel assembly disposed on the second end of the chassis, and a running belt rolled between the first wheel assembly and the second wheel assembly. The transmission unit is connected between the first wheel assembly and the power generator so that the first wheel assembly actuates the power generator to produce a power. The control module electrically is connected with the power generator and is configured to receive and adjust the power from the power generator, and the power is sent to a loading device so as to provide a programmable adjustment of a resistance and a speed to the trainer.

Abstract: Golf balls having covers made of thermoplastic polyurethane compositions are provided. Multi-piece golf balls can be made. In one embodiment, the outer cover layer is formed from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane and polydimethylsiloxane compound. Functionalized polydimethylsiloxane compounds also can be used to treat thermoplastic polyurethane golf ball covers. The cover composition and surface coatings can further include catalysts, ultraviolet (UV)—light stabilizers, and other additives. The coating methods have many benefits and the finished balls with thermoplastic polyurethane covers have good physical properties.

In one embodiment, the golf ball has dimensions and properties that do not conform to the rules of the United States Golf Association (USGA). For example, the ball weight; ball size; ball spherical symmetry; ball initial velocity; and/or ball overall distance may fall outside of the USGA standards. The dual-layered core can have an inner core comprising a thermoplastic composition and surrounding outer core comprising a thermoset composition. In another embodiment, the dual-layered core has an inner core comprising a thermoplastic composition and outer core comprising a thermoset composition. The thermoplastic composition preferably comprises an ethylene acid copolymer ionomer and plasticizer. The thermoset composition preferably comprises polybutadiene rubber. Abstract: This disclosure relates to a relatively compact smart ball launching system and associated methods for using the same. In various embodiments, the disclosed ball launching system may comprise a collapsible ball hopper that can store a larger number of balls while maintaining a relatively compact size. In certain embodiments, brushless motors may be used to improve power efficiency while allowing for accurate launch speeds and/or spins. In some embodiments, a pre-launch chamber may be included in a ball dispensing mechanism that may facilitate on-demand shots and/or power savings by shutting the ball launching system down when the ball hopper is empty.
