Publication number: 20240133814Abstract: A method for obtaining a polarized orbital angular momentum Raman spectrum using vector vortex beams, includes the steps of emitting a polarized laser light from a laser source. The polarized laser light is passed through a narrow band filter that is then passed through a section of wave plates (quarter or half wave plate) to generate polarized light (linear, circular, radial and azimuthal), then through a q-plate (vortex retarder or spiral plate) to give a vortex structure topology carrying orbital angular momentum with a helical phase. The polarized vector vortex light is then directed to contact a sample, thereby producing a Raman scatter beam. Publication number: 20240133830Abstract: When x-ray fluorescence (“XRF”) spectroscopy is utilized to classify materials transported on a moving conveyor belt, there is the possibility of the x-ray beam only partially irradiating the material piece, which can result in the capture of an inaccurate XRF spectrum needed to classify the material piece. This can lead to an improper (erroneous) classification and resultant sortation of material pieces (e.g., aluminum alloys). In a material handling system, the area of the intersections between the x-ray beam spots from an x-ray fluorescence system and the material pieces are measured and correspondingly used to correct the measured XRF spectrum associated with each material piece. The material pieces can then be sorted according to the corrected XRF spectrum.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicant: Sortera Technologies Inc.Inventors: Lakshmi Chellappan, Manuel Gerardo Garcia, JR., Giang Not Provide, Casey Hughlett

Publication number: 20240133842Abstract: A method used in a system allows an operator to use pre-qualified reference data to determine limits in the same statistical domain for one or more outputs, which can be used to qualify reference data for use during a test. With this method, each drive is applied to the system where a controller receives the data. The controller automatically scrutinizes the data received comparing each output received to its associated set of acceptable limits. Publication number: 20240133858Abstract: The present invention proposes a process for extracting and determining nitrogenous and acidic compounds in various types of petroleums, derivatives or thermal degradation products, and in process waters before the production/refining phase. When the methodology is applied to petroleum and byproducts, the process comprises the extraction steps (1); separation (2); pre-concentration (3); and analysis (4). When the methodology is applied to thermal degradation products, there is a need for a previous step to simulate the heating of petroleum containing different chemicals (if necessary) with the purpose of promoting thermal degradation of the species present and of the petroleum, and generating nitrogen compounds with simpler composition.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicants: PETRÓLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. - PETROBRAS, SERVIÇO NACIONAL DE APRENDIZAGEM INDUSTRIAL SENAIInventors: ROGERIO MESQUITA DE CARVALHO, SERGIO NOBORU KURIYAMA, ANDRE LUIZ CASTRO BONFIM, ANTÔNIO AUGUSTO FIDALGO NETO, SAMUEL DE OLIVEIRA SILVA, GIOVANNI BRESSIANI PEDROSO

Publication number: 20240133860Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system for detecting the contamination condition of lubricating grease of a mechanical component. The system comprises a radio frequency signal generator, a sensor, a switch assembly and a radio frequency signal analyzer. The radio frequency signal generator generates a radio frequency signal with a frequency higher than 1.0 GHz. The sensor contacts lubricating grease to be sensed in the mechanical component. The switch assembly switches between a first mode, in which a radio frequency signal is transmitted through a first transmission path, thereby providing a first feedback signal for the radio frequency signal analyzer, and a second mode in which the radio frequency signal is transmitted through a second transmission path, thereby providing a second feedback signal for the radio frequency signal analyzer. The radio frequency signal analyzer analyzes the first and second feedback signals to detect the contamination condition of lubricating grease.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Xing YI, Defeng LANG, Yu Xin ZHOU
