Operator Movable Patents (Class 116/306)
  • Patent number: 4653422
Abstract: A headlights on reminder apparatus provides a motorist with a convenient arrangement of apparatus to hold his or her ignition key, with or without other vehicle and/or household keys, for convenient temporary storage in his or her pocket or purse, or at a place in his or her office or home. Then when operating his or her vehicle, with the headlights on, a tethered hook of this arrangement of apparatus is placed about a vehicle component, while the tether remains secured to the ignition key holder and the ignition key remains in the ignition switch. Upon leaving the car, the motorist must release the hook, thereby remembering to turn off the headlights. In one embodiment the tether extends directly between the hook and the ignition key holder, and in another embodiment the tether, in extending between the hook and the ignition key holder, forms a changeable size loop, by utilizing a receiving and guiding body. The tether is preferably made of a resilient stretchable retractable material.

  • Patent number: 4504841
Abstract: A marking device is configured to retain a preprinted card normally printed with inventory or reminder list items. The body of the device has a support and a face piece with correspondingly mating embossing elements for so marking the related item on the list. The embossing elements are a number of manually movable keys that leave an impression on the card when depressed into engagement with the protrusions aligned with the support piece below. The body may be made of plastic with the face piece of clear plastic for item visibility. The keys may also contain a manification property.

  • Patent number: 4446809
Abstract: A transmission ratio indicator has a lens assembly with a ratio selection indicia imprinted thereon. The transmission selector lever or an indicator associated therewith is selectively movable to various ratios and is aligned with the indicia to indicate the transmission operating condition. The lens assembly is secured in a housing by a resilient member and interengaging toothed portions formed on the lens assembly and housing. The lens assembly toothed portion can be disengaged from the housing toothed portion by displacement of the resilient member through application of a force to the lens assembly. When tooth disengagement has been attained, the lens assembly can be moved in the housing to attain proper alignment of the indicia and the shift lever or indicator. The adjusted position of the lens assembly is maintained by the resilient member enforcing the reengagement of the toothed portions.

  • Patent number: 4270274
Abstract: An indicator principally for measuring fat depth on animal carcasses includes a base and has a probe extending outwardly from the base. The probe defines at or adjacent its end remote from the base a first reference point and a moveable contact plate provides a second reference point. An indicator is provided to give an indication of the distance between the first and second reference points. An elastic means is provided between the base and the contact plate, the elasticity of the elastic means, which in the preferred form comprises springs, being selected so that in use the contact plate compresses the material, such as the surface of the animal carcass, by a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 4212260
Abstract: An apparatus for reminding a driver to turn off automobile headlights before locking the automobile door, comprises a sheath member defining an enclosure for concealing an interior automobile door lock actuating post and removably mountable thereover. A cooperating bracket member is mounted to the sheath member and movable relative thereto for engaging an automobile window slot adjacent to the door lock actuating post. Cooperatively, the bracket acts to maintain the sheath member in position so as to conceal the door lock actuating post. Consequently, the apparatus must be physically removed from the door locking post by the driver in order to actuate the post to its locking position, thereby reminding the driver to turn off the automobile headlights before locking the door.

  • Patent number: 4161723
Abstract: A flagpole, particularly for indicating goals in skiing competitions, comprising an upper flag carrying portion and a lower pointed portion connected by a helical spring. When this flagpole is driven into the ground, it can move elastically laterally when hit by a skier, thus avoiding to be knocked down or causing injuries to the skier. Preferably the flagpole is provided with a semi-cylindrical abutment shell on one side so that it can move only to the other side, with a telescoping sleeve in its lower pointed portion for adjusting its length, and anvils adapted to be struck with a hammer for driving it down into the ground or hard snow.
