A spring is placed between the drill bits so that said spring pushes the drill bits toward the inside bore of said exposed pipe. The two diametrically opposite drill bits drill and attach themselves to the inside bore of said exposed pipe. After the drill bits have been attached to the inside bore of said exposed pipe, said robot shall turn two bolts (hereinafter called A and B) which will in turn push a plug towards the exposed pipe. The plug is made of soft but durable material. When the robot tightens said two bolts A and B, the plug will stop any leakage of oil from the exposed pipe. • Patent number: 8151483
Abstract: A method for progressively dewatering a pipe or pipeline includes the use of a loose-fitting spherical- or quasi-spherical shaped pig body which rolls forward through the interior space of the pipe and temporarily captures and redistributes a portion of the volume of liquids available for capture and redistribution as the pig body rolls on past. Preferably, the portion captured is less than the volume available for capture. A part of the captured liquid may be redistributed to an upper quadrant of the pipe. Capture and redistribution are accomplished by way of a first bypass pathway and a second bypass pathway. One of the pathways may be a through-body pathway. The pig body may be a hollow pig body with a plurality of spaced-apart ports, a solid pig body with a plurality of paddle-like structures, or a cube-sphere type pig body with recessed external wall surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8141590
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for sealing an end section of a tube or of a tubular vessel with a sealing plate arranged pointing toward the tube, and a front plate arranged pointing away from the tube. A peripheral seal is arranged in the outer region of the plates and is disposed at least partly between the sides which point toward one another. The invention provides an arrangement for sealing an end section of a tube or of a tubular vessel, which prevents passage of a medium either out of or into the vessel. This is achieved by virtue of the arrangement, where on at least one of the sides of the plates pointing toward one another in the sealing region, there is a projection which, when forced by pressure onto the sealing plate, brings about a deformation of the seal in the direction of the inner wall of the tube or tubular vessel.
