The drive plate includes a central driveshaft aperture and an outer peripheral edge. A wear plate is positioned along a first axial side of the drive plate and removably coupled to the drive plate. A cutter is removably coupled for rotation with the drive plate via a fastener. A wear insert is positioned to cover a portion of the outer peripheral edge of the drive plate, the wear insert being mounted to the wear plate and held in spaced relation to the outer peripheral edge of the drive plate.

Abstract: A sharp edged knife stop can secure the position of knife blades in a cutting or chipping system and prevent the separation of knife blades. The sharp edged knife stops can also assist in the cutting or chipping and lower the amount of debris build up that would occur with the use of traditional knife stops. Abstract: A cutter head assembly for a wood planing machine includes a shaft, a plurality of cutter-mounting sleeve modules sleeved on the shaft, and a plurality of cutter modules respectively secured to the sleeve modules such that cutting edges of the cutter modules extend beyond outer wall surfaces of the sleeve modules. By virtue of fitting engagement between the guiding member and a selected one of the guided member of each sleeve module that are sequentially sleeved onto the shaft, the cutting edges together define a cutting contour line that winds around the shaft.
Abstract: A cutting assembly includes a knife assembly having a knife holder and a knife blade, a counter knife, and a scoring tip holder. In one arrangement, the counter knife is secured to a ring strander drum, the knife holder and scoring tip holder are carried by a clamping element, and knife blade is disposed between the counter knife and the knife holder. In a closed position, the clamping element causes the knife and scoring tip holders to generate a compressive force against the counter knife, thereby securing the knife blade within the cutting assembly. In an open position, the clamping element positions the knife and scoring tip holders in a spaced relationship relative to the counter knife, thereby allowing removal of the knife blade from the cutting assembly. Accordingly, an operator can replace the knife blade in the cutting assembly without having to remove the entire cutting assembly from the ring strander device.

Hydraulic fluid under pressure is provided to the motor through a two-stage pump, providing separate flows of fluid under pressure. The flows of the pump stages are combined for normal operation of the chipper. A bypass that will bypass the flow from one pump stage when the pressure of the fluid under pressure driving the motor exceeds a pre-selected level from increased load on the feed roller is provided. When the bypass is open the feed roller is slowed to reduce the feed rate of material into the chipper, and when the feed roller loads reduce, the flows will again be combined to speed up the feed roller.

Received in the knife recess are a knife and a bar that includes an angled side configured to sandwich the knife between the angled wall of the recess and the angled side of the bar. A pin extends from the bar and is received in an aperture of the knife to align the knife relative to the bar. A threaded height adjustment screw is received in a threaded bore in the bar to adjust a height of the knife with respect to the body. A securing screw is received in a threaded opening in the body to secure the bar and the knife to the body.
Abstract: Tree stump grinding teeth for use in tree stump grinding wheel assemblies and tree stump grinding wheel assemblies that include one or more such grinding teeth. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the grinding tooth includes a mounting base having a substantially flat surface from which a plurality of cleats project. The cleats are adapted to be received in corresponding bores formed in the wheel. A resilient impact pad is positioned between the mounting base of the grinding tooth and the wheel. The resilient impact pad protects the surface of the wheel from impact forces applied to the grinding tooth.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a flat surface on a workpiece. The apparatus includes a cutterhead, having a plurality of cutting member, configured for forming a plurality of grooves in a workpiece. The cutterhead may be disposed generally at the interface of substantially parallel offset first and a second supports in order to form a plurality of grooves defining a datum or reference plane which may be implemented to orientate the workpiece for forming a flat surface. A plurality of ridges or the like structures defining grooves are included in the second support or as an attachment to the second support in order to support the workpiece from the material forming the interior surface of the grooves so that the workpiece may be orientated with respect to the datum plane. In an additional aspect, a second cutterhead may be included for removing or forming a flat surface which is parallel to the datum plane.

The knife has a single deflector ridge extending from the front side of the knife and two indexing features on either side of the deflector ridge, each corresponding to spaced apart, parallel cutting edges of the knife defining a plane.
