The foam would conform to significant features on the motor or accompanying devices. The assembly will be placed into a molded housing, using the housing to encase the assembly.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electrical suction unit for use in a vacuum cleaner includes a turbine unit and an electrical motor with a rotor and a stator. The turbine unit is attached to the rotor and forms, together with the rotor, a rotatable part of the suction unit, which is rotatable about an axis of rotation. An amount of material is removed from the rotor and from the turbine unit to torque-balance the rotatable part of the suction unit. In this manner, the amount of material to be removed from the rotor to torque-balance the rotatable part is considerably reduced, so that the adverse influence of the removal of the material from the rotor on the performance of the electrical motor is limited.
