The device includes a gearbox shaft, a gearbox housing, a locking ring which may be displaced axially along the gearbox shaft, a control ring which may be moved axially relative to the locking ring and the gearbox shaft. A movement of the control ring relative to the locking ring axially along the gearbox shaft causes an axial movement of the locking ring axially along the gearbox shaft, and the control ring displaces the locking ring in an activated state axially along the gearbox shaft to a predetermined axial position along the gearbox shaft. The gearbox shaft, the gearbox housing and the locking ring are designed and adapted to one another in such a way that in an activated state of the locking ring there is a positive engagement between the gearbox shaft, the gearbox housing and the locking ring.

A plate closes the fixed housing and includes a cylindrical portion extending partially within the fixed housing. A parking piston and a service piston are employed to act against a brake stack which includes a plurality of stators and rotors interleaved together. A wear adjuster is press-tit onto the cylindrical portion of the plate and engages the service piston daring actuation of the service piston and compensates for wear of friction material from the rotors or stators such that the distance between the service piston and the brake stack is substantially the same during the life of the brake mechanism. Abstract: A braking method for a vehicle is proposed as a safety measure and replacement function if the brake system fails, in particular the X-by-wire brake system of a motor vehicle, in which the vehicle is braked with the help of the transmission by a defined engagement of frictional shift elements until the vehicle comes to rest, such that the combination of frictional shift elements actuated when the vehicle's working brake system fails does not correspond to the shift logic of a gear during normal driving operation of the vehicle.

Abstract: A method for operating an electromechanically operable parking brake for motor vehicles with a driving motor furnished with a mechanical gearbox, uses a clutch pedal travel sensor to sense the position of a clutch pedal of the motor vehicle and a gear information sensor to find out whether the operator has selected a gear of the gearbox. Since the automated release operation of the parking brake is a safety-critical method, the signals of the clutch pedal travel sensor (18) and the gear information sensor (15) are checked in terms of their plausibility.

Abstract: An actuating device has an electric motor actuator, at least one output shaft coupled to at least one positioning element and a braking to stop device coupled with the electric motor actuator on the input side and with the output shaft on the output side or includes the output shaft. The braking to stop device has a brake body coupled with the output shaft and is arranged such that it is axially displaceable. The braking to stop device is constructed such that it makes it possible to convert a rotational motion on the input side into the axial lifting motion of the braking body for the displacement thereof from a braking position or positioning the braking body in a braking position. The braking to stop device is also constructed in such a way that it transmits the rotational motion on the input side to the braking body.

Abstract: A shifting device (1) for the mechanical coupling-free transmission of shift commands to an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle (shift-by-wire shifting), with at least one housing and/or one frame and one selector lever for the manual selection of shift commands for the vehicle transmission in at least one shift gate. The selector lever can be moved manually into at least four positions (P, R, N, D), pivotable about at least one shift axis. A transmission device(s) transmits the shift commands without mechanical coupling with the vehicle transmission (shift by wire). A mechanical coupling (16) is provided between the selector lever (2) and the transmission of the vehicle. This mechanical coupling (16) activates the parking brake exclusively and automatically when the selector lever (2) is engaged in the P position and is automatically uncoupled from the selector lever when the selector lever (2) is pivoted out beyond the adjacent position.
