Abstract: A perspiration absorbency product is in the form of a strip which can be removably attached to the inside of a shirt collar. The strip is composed of SMS polypropylene. The base of the strip has a back side with pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed thereon. The adhesive is selected so that the strip can be secured readily to the inside of the shirt collar, so that it does not readily detach through normal wear, and so that, upon removal of the strip, little to no residue remains on the inside of the shirt collar. The SMS polypropylene structure of the strip results in less friction against the wearer's neck by the front side of the strip, while allowing for sufficient absorbency to trap oils and other stain-inducing compounds from perspiration within the strip, thereby protecting the shirt from “ring around the collar.

Abstract: A neck collar and method are described for a two-ply neck collar for attachment to a neck opening of a garment body to help maintain a proper shape along the neck line. In one embodiment, the two-ply neck collar is made of two strips of knitted fabric material. The two strips of fabric material is sewn together along the top edge portions thereof such that one strip is lying flat against the other strip to form a joined unit. The joined unit is then opened flat to define two side edge portions with the stitched portion disposed extending longitudinally between to the two side edge portions. The joined unit is folded after being opened flat such that the two side edge portions are aligned with the stitched portion facing outward, after which, the two side edge portions are sewn together to form a tubular unit. Abstract: This invention provides a garment for a person to wear that will more efficiently remove heat from the person's upper body physical activities. The garment of this invention comprises a shirt member made of a fabric that can retrieve water from the surface of the body, the skin, such that the any amount of the heat contained in the removed water does not flow back into the body. The design of the garment of this invention has sides that have a curved, contoured or tapered shape that resembles the normal shape of a person's upper body. The contoured design enables the water removing fabric of the shirt to be in constant contact with the person's body. The invention has vented areas under both arm locations. These armpit areas retain the most heat and therefore require additional means to efficiently reduce the body temperature in those locations.

  • Patent number: 6185746
Abstract: The present invention provides a shirt with a display of the upcoming schedule of an athletic team, wherein the display has blanks or fields that the wearer or shirt owner individual can fill in after each event to record information such as the winner and loser of the event, the final score, and the cumulative won/lost record of the chosen team. • Patent number: 6182292
Abstract: The present invention relates to a shirt with an incorporated necktie retainer. The cloth retainer is used to anchor two hanging termini of a necktie, so the ends don't encumber the wearer. The vertically directed retainer has a place for two button holes that slip onto the shirt buttons after passing through the longitudinal name tag on the back of the wider hanging portion of a necktie. The retainer has the same resemblance to the shirt in color, texture, material, design etc. because it is just the lower continuation of the button front. Namely the side with the holes where the bottom goes through, at the lowest portion of the shirt. The retainer extends two hole lengths below the end of the shirt front. There is an appropriate type of stitching that allows the retainer to be cut off and apart from the shirt without any loose frayed ends.

  • Patent number: 6076187
Abstract: A man's shirt is provided which is made of conventional woven non-stretch shirting material but which includes elastic elements woven therein at the shirt sides in the area of the torso. These elastic elements shape and sculpt the shirt in this area and prevent bunching and creasing of the shirt. A related method begins with a bolt of a basic shirting material with discrete sites at which the elastic elements are provided and uses computer-controlled cutting of the shirting material relative to these sites to provide component parts of the shirt which, when assembled together with other component parts, produce a shirt with designed-in shaping.
