  • Patent number: 8999159
Abstract: An apparatus for removing magnetic particles from a mud slurry is disclosed, and includes one or more endless belts or chains enclosed almost wholly within a pipe. A motor drives the chain around the pipe. When the pipe is located within a mud slurry, magnetic particles in the mud slurry are drawn to the pipe and carried along the outside and away from the slurry until a collar is reached. Once separated the particles can be collected for disposal. The chain comprises a series of units linked together. Each unit includes a magnet with pole pieces at either pole to direct magnetic flux. Wear discs prevent the magnets and pole pieces from abrasion as they are drawn through the pipe. Units can be included in the chain which units do not include a magnet, thereby providing a break in the field, allowing particles to fall away from the collar region.

  • Patent number: 8376146
Abstract: The device according to the invention serves for classifying or concentrating liquids laden with fibers or solids by means of screening or filtration. For this purpose, a cylindrical fine screen is arranged in a vertical position in a housing comprising an axially cylindrical vibrator being somewhat smaller than the fine screen so as to produce an annular gap between the screen and the vibrator. In the vibrator, there is a vibration motor with imbalances, which generates circular horizontal oscillations. The liquid to be treated is introduced into the annular gap, primarily from above, and the concentrated liquid is removed at the bottom. The cleaned liquid is discharged between the screen and the wall of the housing. The feature of the invention is that the vibrator is mounted on at least three rubber elements which primarily allow the vibrator to perform a circular horizontal movement.

Abstract: Method for the liquid solid separation of material mixtures and suspensions in which the material mixture under pressure is fed into a closed chamber having at least one filter surface and a hydrostatic pressure is generated within said chamber for separating the liquid phase. After separating the liquid phase the chamber is opened and the filter surface together with the filter cake is removed from said chamber. The material mixture firstly is treated by the means of hydrostatic pressure of about up to 0.2 bar, wherein 80 to 90% of the fed volume is removed as filtrate. Thereafter the concentrated remaining volume is drawn off and is further treated in the closed chamber with a pressure of up to 5 bar. By reducing the volume of the chamber finally with a pressure of up to 50 bar the remaining filtrate is separated.

Abstract: An industrial separator and dewatering plant has a filtering portion using an inclined conveyor belt for carrying away a watery cake from an aqueous mixture containing solid matter. The filtering portion further has a wash water spray nozzle directed at the conveyor belt so as to dislodge the watery cake penetrated within the conveyor belt. A dewatering portion has a compression auger screw positioned for receiving the dislodged watery cake and the wash water. An auger screw receives the wash water and cake which is transported to a compression cage where compression drives water out of the cake leaving a semi-solid cake which is pressed against a door where it exits the plant.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a membrane separation method and a relevant equipment, in particular to a method and an equipment for membrane separation utilizing concentration polarization during membrane filtration process, especially, to a concentration process and equipment and a drawer special for drawing a concentration polarization layer. The direct removal of the concentration polarization layer from membrane surface not only decreases the adverse influence of concentration polarization on membrane separation but also obtains concentrated retention components, thereby significantly improving the ability to maintain membrane flux, solving the twinborn problems concerning concentration polarization and membrane fouling during the membrane separation process, and achieving a high-efficiency concentration for retention components.
