In the case main unit 10B of a contact lens carrying case 10, when a handle 12 that is integrally formed with a cover unit 20B is rotated in the clockwise direction, end portions 27G and 27H that are integrally formed with the handle 12 are gradually lifted up starting with the parts thereof that are near the handle 12 while engaging members 40G and 40H are fixed in position. When this occurs, first bridges 29G and 29H that are connected to end portions 27G and 27H are strongly pulled in the direction of rotation of the handle 12 while maintaining connection to top portions 41G and 41H. As a result, the first bridges 29G and 29H are sheared off from the end portions 27G and 27H and the engaging portions 40G and 40H detach from the cover unit 20B.

Abstract: The skirt (12) of this device is provided with a peripheral zone of weakness (16) that is broken on first opening of the device and on either side of which the skirt includes a first portion (14) suitable for being separated from the neck after the zone of weakness has broken, and a second portion (15) provided with a tongue (17) projecting from the inside face of the skirt towards the first skirt portion and adapted, at its free end (17B), to come into abutment against an associated shoulder (8) on the neck (2) in order to retain the second skirt portion around the neck on first opening of the device. In order to guarantee stronger and more reliable retention of the second skirt portion, the tongue presents, in a longitudinal section plane of the skirt, a shape that is essentially curved, being convex towards the first skirt portion.

Abstract: A cap for use with bottled water dispensing systems. The cap includes a main cap and a liner. The main cap has an opening which receives and seals against a probe. The liner is gripped between the main cap and the bottle neck and has a outside part and an inner movable part. The inner movable part is linked to the outer part by a large connecting section that serves as a hinge, and breakable or frangible connecting section. When the bottle is lowered onto the dispensing system, the probe enters into the opening in the main cap, breaks the frangible connection, and pushes the inner movable part open like a flap. The liner, at the location of the large connecting section, is resilient such that the inner movable part tends to close when the bottle is removed from the dispensing system.

Abstract: This invention can be used in the food industry. The invention relates in general to multi-purpose closures used for bottling and storing expensive high-quality drinks. The technical result of the proposed invention is a more reliable closing of bottles, providing the necessary tightness, and making refilling the bottle with low-quality drinks less possible. The closure comprises a discharge sleeve with outer and inner pipes at its inlet end, a collar with an external thread at its outlet end, an inner hood with splines on its side exterior surface and a pouring tube at its outlet end, a removable check valve installed on the exterior side surface of the inner pipe, said check valve having sealing lips on its exterior surface and a flange on its outlet end, said flange being located between the inner and the outer pipes. The outer pipe has longitudinal ribs on its interior surface.

Abstract: A cap which can form an essentially leak-proof seal with an open-ended vessel capable of receiving and holding fluid specimens or other materials for analysis. To minimize potentially contaminating contact between a fluid sample present in the vessel and humans or the environment, the cap has a frangible seal which is penetrable by a plastic pipette tip or other fluid transfer device. The cap further includes a filter for limiting dissemination of an aerosol or bubbles once the frangible seal has been pierced. The filter is positioned between the frangible seal and a retainer. The retainer is positioned on the cap above the filter and may be used to contain the filter within the cap. The material of the retainer may be penetrable by a fluid transfer device.

  • Patent number: 7237698
Abstract: A multi layered frangible seal is bonded over the pour spout opening of flexible plastic bottles containing pourable products such as motor oil. The seal provides a leak proof closure that is strong enough to remain intact when the filled uncapped container is held in an inverted position, and at the same weak enough to break open and dispense the contents into a fill opening when a consumer squeezes the inverted container. The seal is constructed from a first layer of leak proof frangible sheet material that is bonded to a second layer of strengthening sheet material. The strengthening layer contains a cut out void configuration that forms a breaking pattern which forces the seal to break open only in the weaker single frangible layered configuration of the cut out void forming the breaking pattern when the container is squeezed.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the authenticity of a container sealed with a cap (or other closure) which automatically disables itself when the cap is first removed. A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag includes a substrate, a radio frequency transceiver circuit mounted upon the substrate and connected to an antenna having a fixed length that is also mounted upon the substrate, and a protrusion affixed to or a slot in the substrate. A cap for a container includes the RFID tag mounted on an inner surface adjacent to the closed end. When mounted on the container, the cap mates with a ratchet wheel connected to the container that engages the protrusion or slot such that removing the cap from the container will cause the substrate to fracture and thereby cause the RFID tag to become permanently disabled.
