Abstract: An ice planer includes a base, a fix frame, a cylinder, a body, a safety hook, a transmit device and a push cap. When the body is fitted with the cylinder, the safety hook rests against the inner wall of the cylinder and its upper end separate from the touch switch, and a planing plate under the body presses down ice blocks in the cylinder and pushes up the transmit shaft of the transmit device, with the touch switch moved up. Then the push cap is pressed to touch the touch switch to turn on the transmit device to operate the ice planer. Thus, the ice planer has three separate safety measures to let its use very safe, and in addition, the transmit device is contained in the body, not to get wet to increase its service life, with the components easily assembled and disassembled.

  • Publication number: 20020079393
Abstract: A magnetic induction drive for a rotatable driven member in a sealed housing, in particular, a shaft-mounted blade in a blender cup or a shaft-mounted blade in an ice shaver, uses a comparatively thin circular drive plate of a magnetizable material with circumferentially arrayed poles enclosed within a housing secured to a drive shaft. A brushless d.c. motor in a base separate from the housing has a rotor formed as an array of pie-shaped permanent magnet regions that interact with an electronically controlled, rotating electromagnetic field produced by a ring of stator coils. A second such permanent magnet is coupled to rotate coaxially and in unison with the rotor, with poles of opposite polarity aligned and adjacent one another. A steel disc is sandwiched between and bonded to the rotor and the second permanent magnet. The magnetic field (lines of flux) of the second magnet extends axially away from the rotor to induce magnetic poles of opposite polarity in the drive plate.

  • Publication number: 20020070301
Abstract: An improved brush cutter having an upper feed control member with stop, forward, neutral, and reverse positions also has a lower feed stop member with selectable sensitivity. Another aspect of the invention is to predict the feed roller shutoff point according to the rate of engine deceleration. According to another aspect, when the feed rollers stop feeding material into the cutters, to overcome drag on the cutters, a controller stops the feed rollers and then reverses them for a short time, and then reverses the rollers again if the problem is still present. To prevent jamming, a pressure switch senses when oil in a hydraulic motor system for rotating the feed rollers is too high and the controller momentarily reverses the feed rollers and then causes them to go forward, a cycle which can occur several times until the feed rollers are no longer stalled.

  • Patent number: 6402365
Abstract: A blender for home food preparation is improved by the incorporation of electronic motor control circuitry responsive to a microcontroller. The microcontroller includes memory for storage of data and programmed instructions. The programmed instructions permit a user to select from a plurality of blending speeds and define a pre-determined end time. Use of a pre-determined end time produces a two-speed blending cycle. The programmed instructions determine the length and energy level associated with each portion of the two-speed blending cycle. A user can stop the blending cycle at any time, with or without a pre-determined end time. Safety features include a pre-determined maximum motor run time, top jar load detector and auto shut down after a period of inactivity. The pre-determined end time from a previous blending cycle is stored in memory, allowing the microcontroller to reproduce the duration of the previous blending cycle.

Abstract: An animal carcass incineration process comprising the steps of: providing a large hopper with a large spring loaded trap door at the top, a series of stationary and rotating blades in the center and a second set of spring loaded doors below. The hopper features a double walled construction which serves to keep the blade drive gears and rollers away from the carcasses as they are being processed through the rotating blades. The carcass hopper blade assembly incorporates a slide out drawer allowing the entire unit to slide out for maintenance and cleaning. A ramp is provided that leads to the top of the hopper to allow a rendering truck to dump carcasses directly into the hopper. A large pipe is provided with an opening beneath the bottom of the hopper and includes a hydraulically driven auger for forcing the shredded carcasses upward along the pipe. A very hot exhaust gas pipe is vented into the auger pipe and is used for removing moisture from the carcass to be burned.

  • Patent number: 6029568
Abstract: A juice extractor is provided that includes an induction motor supported by a housing and having a rotatable shaft that is operably interconnected with comminuting basket adapted to pulverize food products, e.g., fruit and/or vegetables, into juice bearing pulp. The comminuting basket extracts the juice from the pulp and ejects the juiceless pulp. A servo-control mechanism is arranged in electrical and controlling cooperation with the induction motor, and is responsive to the rate of rotation of the shaft for maintaining the shaft at a substantially constant rate of rotation when the induction motor is in a power-on state and the comminuting basket is comminuting the food products. A bowl is positioned in substantially surrounding relation to the comminuting basket so as to (i) collect the juice and (ii) direct the juice to an exit opening in the bowel.

Abstract: A cutter disk is removably mounted in equipment that cuts potatoes into helical strips. A knife blade extends radially outwardly from the axis of rotation of the disk and is axially displaced from the front surface of the disk. A plurality of slitter blades is integral and one piece with a slitter plate. The slitter blades extend from and are perpendicular to the front surface of the plate. The slitter blades respectively extend through spaced slots in the disk located at different distances from the axis of rotation. A backing plate removably secures the slitter plate to the disk so that the slitter plate can be readily removed for maintenance without removing the disk from the equipment. Two spaced-apart projections on the backing plate constrain the slitter plate therebetween to minimize lateral movement.

Abstract: An apparatus for shredding cheese is disclosed which is capable of producing relatively precise square cross-section cheese shreds of a desired length. The apparatus is capable of simultaneously shredding multiple cheese blocks for high capacity cheese shredding. The length of the cheese shreds can be altered as desired, as well as the width and height to produce cheese shreds having a rectangular cross-section. A containment center is used to feed the blocks of cheese toward the cheese shredding apparatus. A series of horizontally mounted sectioning knives are at a front end of the containment center to section the cheese block into predefined lengths, thereby defining the length of each cheese shred. The cheese shredder includes multiple slicing and peeling assemblies mounted over a series of openings in a rotatable disk. Each slicing and peeling assembly includes a number of rakers having outwardly projecting slicing blades to vertically score a sectioned block of cheese.
