  • Patent number: 11910965
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipurpose spindle for dispensing a continuous format product, such as toilet paper. The spindle is configured to restrict movement of product or paper off the roll to reduce the length of product removed. More specifically, the spindle includes a hollow arm having a thick arm and a thin arm, a plurality of spring biased paper restrictors, and the restrictor touches the paperboard core of a roll to restrict movement of paper off the roll. A central torsional spring positioned inside the hollow arm also helps in restricting the movement of the paper product. The paper restrictors are depressed to slide the spindle through a paper roll and are released to touch the paperboard core of the roll.

  • Patent number: 11078040
Abstract: An unpowered, manually operable apparatus for dispensing cushioning wrap material drawn concurrently from a roll of separator material and a self-contained cartridge that includes a roll of expandable sheet material. The rolls are supported on a stand for rotation about respective parallel, spaced-apart axes. In addition to the roll, the cartridge includes a tensioning assembly and support panels that abut respective ends of the roll. The tensioning assembly and the support panels cooperate with the stand to control rotational resistance of the roll. The rotational resistance causes the expandable sheet material to expand in length and thickness as it is manually pulled from the stand with the separator material, and support surfaces on the stand hold the cartridge and the separator roll in position. When the cartridge containing the expandable sheet material is depleted, the cartridge is readily removed and replaced.

Abstract: A self-compensating tension control device for regulating the withdrawal of filamentary material from a spool includes a fixed support that maintains a cam surface and a spindle assembly rotatably carrying the spool. A braking mechanism includes a brake drum rotatable with the spindle assembly, a brake shoe adapted to engage the brake drum and a rocker arm that engages the cam surface. When the tension force applied to the filamentary material is reduced and unable to overcome the biasing force, the cam roller engages the cam surface and causes the brake shoe to generate a braking force on the brake drum. Withdrawal of the filamentary material at a regular rate occurs when the biasing force is balanced with the tension force.

Abstract: A stock supply station for use in a insulated glass unit component production line includes a plurality of rotatable sheet stock coils, an indexing mechanism, and an uncoiling mechanism. The indexing mechanism is coupled to the sheet stock coils for indexing a selected one of the sheet stock coils to an uncoiling position. The uncoiling mechanism selectively uncoils sheet stock from a sheet stock coil indexed to the uncoiling position to thereby provide sheet stock to a downstream processing station.

  • Patent number: 7559504
Abstract: A thin-ply roll holder, for example, a paper towel holder facilitates tearing of paper towels from a continuous roll supported on the holder, and prevents excessive unraveling of the roll. A pressure bar pivots at a hinge on the base, and is spring biased towards the pole that supports the roll, such that leverage of the bias about a hinge increases as the pressure bar pivots towards the pole, but the bias decreases at a lower rate than the increase in the leverage. At the distal free end of the pole, a retaining tab is pivoted to flip from a first orientation in which the hollow core of the paper towel is permitted to be received by the pole, to a second orientation in which the paper towel is not permitted to be removed from the pole. The pole is structured as a frame structure comprising rod-shaped segments.

Abstract: A membrane dispenser includes a basic body having its intermediate circumference provided with a position-limiting recess to partition the basic body into a holding member at a rear portion and a dispensing member with a comparatively large diameter at a front portion. A position-limiting member is fitted in the position-limiting recess, and a brake sleeve is fitted on both the holding member and the position-limiting recess, which are engaged in the brake sleeve by the position-limiting member, letting the basic body able to rotate pivotally on the position-limiting member. In using, simply hold the brake sleeve and timely apply a radial force to the brake sleeve to force the basic body to stop rotating and let a membrane reel stop releasing membrane for facilitating adjusting of membrane strapping tightness, simple in structure and convenient in operating and using.

  • Patent number: 7108218
Abstract: A hose dispenser has a rotatable reel 10, holding a coiled hose 12 suitable for conveying breathable gas, mounted on a tubular steel frame 14. The reel has a pivoting arm 16, which has a portion defining an aperture, or “eye” 18 fitted thereon. The hose is threaded through the eye 16 so that the free end of the hose protrudes through the eye. The free end of the hose is fitted with a resilient frusto-conical protective hood 20. The hood provides two functions. First, it enables the free end of the hose to engage the eye of the arm 16, and secondly, it protects a valve 22, located on the free end of the hose, from damage. Another valve 24 is provided in the centre of the reel, which is connected to the other end of the hose. In use, the free end of the hose is carried by an operative, or is attached to breathing apparatus worn by the operative, and the other end is connected to a source containing gas for breathing. The arm 16 is mounted pivotally on the reel.

  • Patent number: 7014139
Abstract: An unwind spool assembly for dispensing material wound into a roll includes a rotatable shaft and a mounting block rotatably mounted on the shaft for rotation about the shaft in a wind direction and an unwind direction, wherein in the unwind direction the material unwinds from the roll, and in the wind direction the material winds onto the roll. A biasing member interposed between the shaft and the mounting block rotatably biases the mounting block toward the wind direction. In another embodiment, a slip clutch is fixed to the shaft for maintaining a drag on the shaft as the shaft rotates in the unwind direction to maintain tension in the material unwinding from the roll. In yet another embodiment, the unwind spool assembly includes a spool core for holding the roll of material. The spool core is rotatable about an axis, and at least one flange extending radially from the core is rotatable about the axis independently of the core.

The cylindrical grip has a large-diameter portion and a small-diameter portion, and a push member provided in the large-diameter portion and combined with the friction element. When the push member is pressed by a finger of a user, the friction element produces a stopping force against a friction ring of the sleeve so that a film winding cylinder positioned between two of the film hand wrappers combined with two ends of the film cylinder may be stopped, with the film on the film winding cylinder impossible to unwind so as to permit the user pull tight the film for wrapping an object.

Abstract: A web of pre-opened plastic bags is supplied as a continuously attached length on a storage form, each bag being separated from adjacent bags along a supply length by a perforated tear line. A seal which runs codirectionally with the tear line forms a closed bottom for each bag. The supply length of bags is advantageously stored on the storage form to permit advancement of consecutive bags when pulled out of the stored condition by a user. The perforation tear line cuts entirely through the continuous web supply of bags, however, the perforation along one side the bag is broken, such that the bag presents an open flap through which contents can be added to each bag prior to its removal from the remainder of the continuous bag supply. The storage form provides tension against the dispensing of bags.
