  • Patent number: 11122942
Abstract: A dispenser assembly that includes a carousel tray and is operable to allow the user to selectively orient one of a plurality of respective discrete rolls of web material supported by the carousel tray proximate a dispense opening. An elongate user actuated lever arm is accessible from outside the dispenser housing and operable to allow the user to manually rotate the carousel tray relative to the housing to present each discrete roll of web material proximate the dispense opening for use. In preferred embodiments, the dispensing assembly includes one or more indexing and/or brake assemblies that are configured to inhibit inertial rotation of the carousel and/or to resist rotation of the carousel beyond a desired radial location absent user interaction with the lever arm.

  • Patent number: 9969192
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes: a printing unit configured to perform printing on a sheet; a driving unit configured to apply a rotational force to a roll member that is rotatably held; and a pressing unit having a roller configured to apply a pressing force to an outer peripheral surface of a roll sheet wound around the roll member, wherein the pressing unit changes the pressing force during a sequence in which the driving unit applies a rotational force to the roll member and a sheet that has passed through the printing unit is wound.

  • Patent number: 9592683
Abstract: A sheet can be securely drawn out of a sheet roll irrespective of an outer diameter of the sheet roll, and then, can be conveyed. A driven roller moves according to the outer diameter of the sheet roll, so as to be brought into press-contact with an outer periphery of the sheet roll from below, with respect to the direction of gravity, irrespective of the outer diameter of the sheet roll. An arm member moves according to the outer diameter of the sheet roll, so as to guide a lower side of the sheet drawn through above the driven roller irrespective of the outer diameter of the sheet roll.

  • Patent number: 9027868
Abstract: A coiled roll container including a base having opposed one and other sides and an outlet slot through which an edge of the coil roll extends. A pair of elastic cords each having opposed one and other ends is provided with the one end fixed at one side of the base and the other end releasably attached to the other side of the base. The elastic cords are for looping over the coiled roll to secure the coiled roll in place. The container also includes a cord locking mechanism at the other side of the base for receiving and securing the elastic cords about the coil roll.

  • Patent number: 7875152
Abstract: A torn paper web capture system that is a mechanism for securing a band, tape or strap, preferably composed of paper, across a paper roll as the roll is rotating. A sensor means detects the torn paper web and initiates both the shut down of rotation of the paper roll and the release of the band. The band resides within a guide track, the track being generally C-shaped in cross-section Upon contact with spool journal or similar rotating member the end of the band adheres and is wrapped around the rotating member. This wrapping action takes up the slack in the band and pulls it from the guide track and against the paper web, thereby securing the loose end of the paper web. The contact between the band and the rotating member may be initiated in multiple ways, such as with a nip roller, an actuating shoe member, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20090179103
Abstract: Device for dispensing strapping material from a coil of the strapping material includes a carriage for receiving the coil of material such that the coil can be rotated about a longitudinal axis of the coil by pulling the material from the coil to unwind the material from the coil. The carriage supports the coil at circumferential spaced locations on the periphery of the coil, is adjustable to various widths or thickness of the coil, and operates to apply a proportional braking force to the coil at circumferential spaced locations on the periphery of the coil as a function of the weight of the coil. The carriage is mounted to a wheeled cart that includes various receivers for storing tools and supplies used in the process of bundling articles together with strapping.

  • Patent number: 6502780
Abstract: A point of sale printer is provided with a large paper supply roll mounted externally from the printer. The printer includes a paper drive which rapidly accelerates and decelerates a paper web extending from the paper supply roll. A tensioning roll is moved in one direction to feed the web into the printer during the relatively slow acceleration of the paper supply roll and in an opposite direction to prevent a tangle of paper as the paper supply roll is decelerated after the printer stops moving the paper web. A cable assembly is provided to facilitate loading the large paper supply roll. A braking spring helps to decelerate the paper supply roll and further engages a flap formed in an outer end of the paper web to thread this end of the web into the printer.

  • Patent number: 6467511
Abstract: A mechanism to automatically control tension of supplemental yarns added to a weaving or knitting machine has a pivotal control arm, one end of which is influenced by the tension of the yarn being controlled, while a counteracting force is applied to another end of the arm. The movement of the arm is used to modulate and adjust a braking device acting against the yarn holding spool to keep the tension of the yarn substantially uniform over time as the diameter of the yarn wound on the storage spool changes.
