Abstract: A furniture pillar includes an upright tube and a guide bushing which is inserted into one end of the upright tube and has an inner circumferential surface which is a guide for a supporting tube of the furniture pillar. The guide bushing has a radially inner guide tube, the tube passage of which forms a guide. An annular insertion region extends radially outwards on an end region of the guide tube and is inserted with its outer circumferential surface into the upright tube. A plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs of the guide bushing adjoin the annular insertion region axially, and extend radially outwards from the guide tube to outer end surfaces which bear against the inner wall of the upright tube, forming open chambers between them towards the side facing away from the annular insertion region. The upright tube has a color coating which completely covers its outer circumferential surface. Continuous openings pass from the chambers through the guide tube to the interior of the guide tube.

Abstract: A spindle base which constitutes a height regulating device of a chair, and it is an object of the present invention to improve the corrosion resistance, the abrasion resistance, the fatigue strength, and the reverse bending stress of the spindle body by coating a nitration layer of a predetermined thickness on the inner and outer surfaces of the spindle base. A height regulating device gas comprises a spindle base, a cylinder formed in the spindle base, a piston slidably moved in the cylinder, and a spindle having a piston rod having one end connected to the piston. The other end of the piston rod is fixed to one end of an outer case and the spindle is moved upward and downward through the outer case based on the piston rod and the outer case. The spindle base is comprised of a metal and nitration layers are formed on the inner and outer surface of the metal.

Abstract: A computer that includes a computer base a display and an articulated mechanism formed as modules with mating mechanical connectors. The mating mechanical connectors enable the computer base to be configured with the display either directly or indirectly via the articulated mechanism. The articulated mechanism configuration enables the display to be rotatable about the bottom edge of the display at any of a plurality of viewing angles and also to be oriented above the computer base in a plurality of positions. Preferably, a stabilizer mechanism stabilizes and locks the articulated mechanism to selected angular positions.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device that supports an individual's spine while the individual is in a forward bent position. The device includes a padded rest on which an individual could lean while working in a forward bent position and brackets for adjusting the angle, height, and position of the device. Since the individual leans against the rest, the stresses experienced in the lower, middle and upper back are substantially decreased. Reducing such stress decreases the pain experienced by the individual as well as extends his or her productive life.

Abstract: An equipment support stand for mounting and positioning photographic, motion picture and video accessories and the like. A riser comprising a plurality of telescoping shafts is coupled to lower, center and upper support legs which, when activated, will position the riser vertically relative to the mounting surface. Each support leg is integral with a respective positioning sleeve, the center and upper positioning sleeves being rotatably coupled about the lower end of the riser. Each positioning sleeve includes at least one engagement surface which is adapted to interface with the adjacent positioning sleeve or sleeves. When engaged, each of the three support legs are angularly spaced from adjacent support legs by 120° of arc. The center positioning sleeve may be secured to the riser in the engaged position. In the closed state, the center and upper support legs may be rotated about the riser and be placed in a co-planar relationship with the lower support leg to facilitate storage and transport.
