Abstract: The invention is directed to a support for a pattern in front of a person in the process of doing embroidery work. This process involves a two-handed process will doing embroidery or other work while at the same time displaying the pattern from which the work at hand progresses. To this end, there is a support to display the pattern in substantially the eye sight of the person doing the embroidery. The support may clamped to an arm chair of an upholstered piece of furniture at home or the upper thigh of a leg when the upholstered piece of furniture is not available such as in the waiting room of a physician or others. The support device can be clamped to a substantially circular structure and carries a display device for a pattern of the work in progress. The support device has either a flexible support rod or one that is rigid. In either case the hands of the person performing the task of embroidery or other work are free to move at will.

  • Patent number: 6693543
Abstract: A tagging device comprises a strap attached to a housing. A latch plate is mounted on a first length of strap and a collar is slidably mounted on a second length of strap. The latch plate has two location pegs which fit into holes on the first length of strap such that a hole fits over the lug to make the strap the correct size for a user. Two flexible barbs are formed on the collar such that the collar slides over the plate and the barbs are deformed as they slide up slopes on the plate. As the barbs slide off the end of the slopes they return to their rest position and snap into slots. Moving the collar in relation to the plate once the barbs have snapped into place in the slots causes the barbs to break, giving an indication of tampering.

Abstract: A break-away lock to secure a fire hydrant water meter to a fire hydrant so as to stop thieves and dishonest building contractors from removing the water meter from the fire hydrant. The break-away lock is advantageously adapted to permit the water meter to automatically separate from the fire hydrant in the event that a pulling force is applied to a water supply hose connected between a water tanker truck and the water meter to prevent a possible unearthing of the fire hydrant should the truck inadvertently pull away from the fire hydrant without first detaching the hose from the water meter. The break-away lock includes a swivel connected to the fire hydrant, a slide-out coupler, one end of which is connected to the water meter and the opposite end of which is slideably received by the swivel, and an outer clamping shell surrounding the swivel and slide-out coupler to deny unauthorized access thereto.
