  • Patent number: 8622399
Abstract: An sealing gasket is shown for use in forming joints of plastic pipe. The gasket is formed as a composite elastomeric body with a leading region formed of a thermoplastic elastomer material and with a trailing region formed of a synthetic plastic material. The gasket body has an outer circumferential region provided with a series of recessed pocket which give it a scallop-like appearance. The relatively harder plastic region of the gasket body deforms the associated pipe socket end during manufacture of the pipe end, whereby the gasket is integrally locked within an internal pipe groove in the pipe socket end upon completion of the pipe belling operation.

  • Patent number: 8567792
Abstract: A resin sub-seal member (11) provided with a concave groove (16) is disposed at a region closer to a higher-pressure side region than a rubber main seal member (10) and pressure variation in a gas on a higher-pressure side is inhibited from being transmitted to the main seal member (10). Further, a variation reducing space (13) is formed between the seal members (10) and (11) to be able to reduce the pressure variation when gas leakage in the sub-seal member (11) occurs or the sub-seal member (11) responds with a delay with respect to the pressure variation. Thus, rapid change in the pressure of the gas surrounding the main seal member (10) is inhibited, occurrence of the blistering phenomenon is inhibited, and a high seal ability is achieved. The seal structure is formed by a simple structure including the seal members (10) and (11), and the variation reducing space (13).

Abstract: Provided are a gasket, a reactor using the same for sealing a spiral, and a manufacturing method thereof. The present invention improves a spiral sealing mechanism of a reactor wherein, spirals are continuously installed in the longitudinal direction between an inner pipe and an outer pipe coaxially arranged to form a flow path for a heat medium, so the seal between the spiral and the outer pipe is stably maintained and fabrication of the reactor is facilitated. The gasket (10) according to the present invention has a structure that the gasket is inserted in and coupled with the spiral (3), and thus does not need additional processing for combining the gasket (10). Therefore, since the gasket (10) and spiral (3) are coupled by lodging the spiral (3) into a channel (21) of the gasket (10), the assembly is facilitated.
