Abstract: A presentation folder includes a generally rectangular folder sheet of width W and length L with a fold line extending along the length L to divide the folder sheet into a front section and a back section attached at the fold line. The front section includes structure for holding a customizable cover sheet which in combination with the front section functions as the front cover of a personalized presentation folder. The back section then functions as the back cover of the folder. In one embodiment the cover sheet is of a size and shape to be compatible with standard computer/printer equipment and the structure for holding includes an alignment and stop structure for ensuring the correct positioning of the cover sheet within the front section and attachment means for securing the cover sheet to the front section. A pocket flap may be used to form a pocket on the inner surface of the back section.

Abstract: Disclosed is a binder assembly and an improved method for binding paper documents, particularly short run and full dress documents (SRFDD) that are widely used in numerous contexts, including competitive bidding and investment solicitation. The binder assembly comprises a slide for supporting the bound document, a cover for enclosing the document, and a binder for binding the document. The cover is flexible and printable with a width-adjustable spine portion for titling and identifying the bound document with indicia. The binding method provides for relatively rapid, yet flexible and inexpensive production of bound documents with professional appearance.

Abstract: A method for economically producing a periodical publication includes common content printed using a first plate set in all the issues of an edition for a series and certain variable content unique to a specific issue of the series is printed using a second plate. A fourth color may be printed using the second plate to both complete the four color process for the common content and to print the single color for the variable content. In another aspect, called two-way sharing, the first plate set may also be used to print the common content for a plurality of series of the same basic periodical edition. Steps are included for binding special features such as trading cards, fold out posters, etc. into the periodical. The special features may also contain specific content unique to a particular issue.

The in-folded upper and lower flap portions of the hexagon are attached to each other and to the triangular side flap portions, to form the pocket portion (25), with lock stitching (27) at the innermost juncture by the spine opening. A central top and bottom fold-over engages the spine of the book in stabilizing relation. The unitary hexagonal blanks can be economically mass produced from roll material (40).
