Publication number: 20030006067Abstract: A high-density circuit has a plurality of conductors formed in grooves in a ceramic substrate, the conductors having a height less than that of the walls of the grooves. The substrate is embossed with a pattern of grooves corresponding to the grooves in an electroform made from a master tool. The same master tool is used to form a stencil which mates with the grooved substrate. A cermet paste is pushed through the stencil, so as to fill the bottom region of the grooves, and the stencil is then removed, leaving only the paste at the bottom of the grooves. The substrate is then fired, causing the substrate to harden, and causing the cermet to become conductive and to become firmly bonded to the substrate. Because the stencil and the substrate are made from the same, or replications of the same, master tool, the cermet paste can be laid down with great precision, thus enhancing the quality of the product, and reducing the cost of its manufacture.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 3, 2001Publication date: January 9, 2003Applicant: Max Levy Autograph, IncInventor: Donald C. Publication number: 20020104668Abstract: A method and apparatus (10) for making an electrical distribution conductor (12) is performed by heating an electrically conductive uninsulated wire (14) to a predetermined temperature that is at least approximately as hot as the melting temperature of a thermoplastic member (15) and by then forcing the heated wire into the thermoplastic member to provide insulated mounting of the wire for providing an electrical conductor between spaced locations. The wire (14) is engaged with a pair of spaced rotary electrodes (20, 22) to pass an electric current through the wire to provide its heating. The wire (14) can be either fully or partially embedded within the thermoplastic member (15) and can have either electrically connected or insulated junctions with another crossing wire.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 2, 2002Publication date: August 8, 2002Applicant: Lear CorporationInventors: Albert Wojewnik, David Lee Perry

Publication number: 20020083587Abstract: An arrangement apparatus comprises a base (10) and an elongated arranging member (12) mounted thereon, wherein the arranging member includes a plurality of channels (123) and a plurality of reference wires (1253) with predetermined colors. The reference wires are arranged in a sequence that corresponds to the arrangement of pins of a connector to be connected with the multi-core round cable. Each reference wire is disposed in alignment with a corresponding channel. The color of each reference wire is the same as the color of a core (21) of the multi-core round cable to be placed in the channel corresponding to that reference wire. An operator can freely pick up any one core and place it in the correct channel simply by matching the color of the reference wire with the color of the selected wire.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2001Publication date: July 4, 2002Inventor: Wenli Wang

Publication number: 20020069520Abstract: A machine (10) for attaching electrical terminals (12) to a wire conductor (14) includes a wire depressor (50) for guiding the individual strand of the conductor into proper seating engagement with the terminal and holding the conductor in that position during the crimping cycle. The wire depressor includes a fixed member (52) that is removable secured to the ram (34) of the machine (10) and a movable member (55) in sliding engagement with the fixed member. One or more resilient members (54) are arranged between the fixed member and the movable member to urge the movable member into pressing engagement with the conductor while permitting the ram to continue its movement during the crimping cycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2000Publication date: June 13, 2002Inventors: Charles E. Publication number: 20020069519Abstract: In a cable processing equipment a cable changer stands perpendicularly relative to a base plate, at which a straightening unit and a cable transport unit are arranged. The cable changer is movable upwardly or downwardly and consists of a frame with horizontal frame members and vertical frame members. Cable guides are arranged at the vertical frame members. Cable guides which are at the inlet side as seen in cable transport direction are provided with clamping/retracting units, and cable guides at the outlet side are provided with clamping units. The clamping/retracting units at the inlet side are switchable by means of a first actuating device arranged at the base plate. The clamping units at the outlet side are switchable by means of a second actuating device arranged at the base plate. Cables which are not at the moment transported in the cable transport direction, are clamped by the clamping/retracting units and the clamping units.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2001Publication date: June 13, 2002Inventor: Benedikt Erni
