Abstract: A side mirror includes a mount seat mounted to a front cowl that covers a portion of the front of a vehicle body, a mirror stay supported on the mount seat with a basal end thereof supported in a turnable manner, and a mirror provided at a tip end of the mirror stay. The mount seat includes a base portion 41a extended in one direction and mounted to the front cowl, and a support portion provided on the base portion 41a to support the basal end of the mirror stay so that a direction Dp in which a turning shaft of the mirror stay extends is inclined to a length direction DL of the base portion. With this structure, a side mirror increased in degree of freedom in selecting a mount position on a front cowl can be provided.
Abstract: A front pillar for an automobile includes an outer panel, an inner panel, a hollow member sandwiched between the outer and inner panels, and a reinforcing member. The outer panel has a glass attachment flange section extending along an edge of the windshield. The hollow member has a first concave section provided on an upper wall section at a terminal end of the hollow member. The first concave section is downwardly separated from the glass attachment flange section of the outer panel. The reinforcing member has a second concave section welded to the first concave section and downwardly separated from the glass attachment flange section of the outer panel.

Abstract: A method for bending a sheet is described. Abstract: A vehicle covering system includes a vehicle that has a front fender, a rear fender, a pair of floor boards and a seat. The seat is positioned between the front and rear fenders and between the floor boards. A covering is removably positioned on the vehicle and is coextensive with the front fender, the rear fender and the floor boards to shield a person seated on the seat. Abstract: A decorative molding that is to be fixed to a frame of a framed window glass plate for a vehicle is provided. Abstract: A coated article is provided which may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) and/or heat bent in certain example instances. In certain example embodiments, a zinc stannate based layer is provided between a tin oxide based layer and a silicon nitride based layer, and this has been found to significantly reduce undesirable mottling damage upon heat treatment/bending. This results in significantly improved bendability of the coated article in applications such as vehicle windshields and the like.

Bottom corners (7) on side edges (17) of the bottom panel are slideably and pivotally attached to tracks (8) and front posts (9) of a upper structure (10) of a vehicle. Top corners (12) on side edges (18) of the top panel are pivotally attached to the front vertical posts of the upper structure. Gas springs (13) are mounted to the top panel and the front posts to assist with folding the windshield assembly up and down.
Abstract: A method for forming a laminated window having one or more interlayers that can exhibit a variable level of adhesion is disclosed. The method includes: a) assembling a cast between two plies that make up the laminated window; b) filling the cast with a reaction mixture for forming a polymer material; c) adding at least one first silane comprising an isocyanate functional silane and at least one second silane comprising an epoxy silane to the reaction mixture; and d) curing the reaction mixture.

Abstract: A coated article is provided which may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) and/or heat bent in certain example instances. In certain example embodiments, a zinc stannate based layer is provided between a tin oxide based layer and a silicon nitride based layer, and this has been found to significantly reduce undesirable mottling damage upon heat treatment/bending. This results in significantly improved bendability of the coated article in applications such as vehicle windshields and the like.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for selecting a viscoelastic plastic interlayer comprising two outer layers and a central layer and intended to be incorporated between two glass sheets of a glazing unit, the method comprising the following steps: first and second components intended to constitute respectively the central layer and the outer layers are provided; the shear modulus G? of the first and second components is measured; the material of the second component is selected only if G??3×107 Pa at 20° C. and between 100 Hz and 240 Hz; and the thickness h of the first component is set so that h?0.3 mm and so that g=G?/h is between 8×108 Pa/m and 2.67×109 Pa/m at 20° C. and between 100 Hz and 240 Hz. The invention makes it possible to optimize the damping of the second and third natural frequencies of a vehicle windshield without weighing down the windshield.
Abstract: A device is provided for the treatment and prophylaxis of healthy eyes, pseudoaphakic eyes and/or eyes suffering macular and retinal degeneration that comprises a yellow filter applied to a conventional illumination system to protect them from short wavelengths of the visible spectrum under 500 nm and preferably in the range of 350 nm to 500 nm. This device the difficulties and risks of existing ways of protecting eyes undergoing cataract surgery and prevents or improves the degeneration of healthy eyes and those suffering neurodegeneration by the simple application of a protective filter to any lighting system. Embodiments of the invention comprise combining a conventional light source with a conventional yellow filter that absorbs wavelengths of light shorter than 500 nm so that the filter completely covers the illumination source.
Abstract: The current invention is a split windshield which can be stored on a vehicle or deployed into a single windshield to provide protection for a rider on the vehicle. The windshield includes an upper and lower portion and also includes an upper and lower frame attached to the upper and lower portion of the windshield. There are mounts for attaching the windshield to a vehicle.

As shown in FIG. 2, a laminate comprises sheets of glass 12 and 14 having sandwiched therebetween adhesive interlayer 16. Interlayer 16 has a uniform thickness profile extending from edge 18 to point 20 and a wedge-shaped thickness profile from point 20 to edge 22.
