  • Patent number: 10346688
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for visualizing the congestion degree of an entire facility using a monitoring camera. The system detects a crowd from a monitoring camera video and derives the magnitude (number of people) of the crowd from the edge amount thereof, and thereby estimates a congestion state in a range of camera video. The system also calculates a human flow (amount of movement of people) on the basis of a number of passing people counter and the magnitude and movement speed of the crowd, etc., and estimates the number of people in an area other than the range of camera video on the basis of a modeled crowd behavior pattern. The model is constructed by selecting a distribution function and a parameter thereof by a statistical model selection technique such as a Bayesian Information Criteria (BIC). The congestion state is plotted on a map, allowing the congestion state of an area of interest to be grasped at once.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and manufactures for a surveillance system are provided. The surveillance system includes sensors having at least one non-overlapping field of view. The surveillance system is operable to track a target in an environment using the sensors. The surveillance system is also operable to extract information from images of the target provided by the sensors. The surveillance system is further operable to determine probabilistic confidences corresponding to the information extracted from images of the target. The confidences include at least one confidence corresponding to at least one primitive event. Additionally, the surveillance system is operable to determine grounded formulae by instantiating predefined rules using the confidences. Further, the surveillance system is operable to infer a complex event corresponding to the target using the grounded formulae. Moreover, the surveillance system is operable to provide an output describing the complex event.

  • Patent number: 10187003
Abstract: A system obtains respective measurements of relevant electrical parameters of a motor during operational stages including a start-up stage, a transition stage, a steady-state stage, idle stage, or a shutdown stage of the motor driven system driven by the motor. Based on the respective measurements, the monitoring system then determines respective electrical patterns corresponding to the operational stages. Next, the monitoring system compares the respective electrical patterns corresponding to the operational stages with respective baseline electrical patterns modeled for the operational stages to yield a comparison. Then, the monitoring system determines a status of the motor driven system based on a comparison between baseline and observed operating parameters. Trend pattern monitoring is used to eliminate storing massive volumes of trend data by capturing and characterizing the important moments when data values change in a significant manner.

  • Patent number: 10158436
Abstract: A receiver apparatus 1 estimates a plurality of first electric-power delay profiles from a plurality of digital signals based on signals received via an array antenna; generates a synthesized electric-power delay profile q(m, l) by synthesizing these; generates an array process signal y(k) from the plurality of digital signals; estimates a second electric-power delay profile from the array process signal; generates a difference electric-power delay profile d(m, l) by subtracting the second electric-power delay profile from the synthesized electric-power delay profile; and creates a two-dimensional map indicating a relationship between delay times and arrival angles of incoming waves, on the basis of the difference electric-power delay profile and a direction of a null point. The receiver apparatus 1 changes the direction of the null point and repeats the above process, and estimates an arrival angle ?1 of a direct wave on the basis of the two-dimensional map.
