Coded Record Input (e.g., Ic Card Or Key) Patents (Class 340/5.6)
  • Patent number: 8274360
Abstract: Physiological information can be stored in a dynamic round-robin database. Parameter descriptors may be used to identify parameter values in the records. The parameter values can be dynamically updated by changing the parameter descriptors. In addition, the size of files used in the database can be dynamically adjusted to account for patient condition. In certain implementations, the round-robin database can be adaptive, such that an amount of data stored in the database is adapted based on patient condition and/or signal condition. Additionally, medical data obtained from a clinical network of physiological monitors can be stored in a journal database. The medical data can include device events that occurred in response to clinician interactions with one or more medical devices and device-initiated events, such as alarms and the like. The journal database can be analyzed to derive statistics, which may be used to improve clinician and/or hospital performance.

Abstract: A capacitive sensing system are configured to sense a capacitance value and convert the sensed capacitance value to a digital format. The capacitive sensing system provides good selectivity and immunity to noise and interference, which can be further enhanced by enabling spread spectrum excitation. In some embodiments, the capacitive sensing system utilizes a sinusoidal excitation signal that results in low electromagnetic emissions, limited to narrow frequency band. In some embodiments, the capacitive sensing system is configured to operate in a spread spectrum mode, in which the majority of the excitation signal power is carried in the assigned bandwidth. The excitation frequency and the bandwidth of the spread spectrum excitation signal are programmable in a wide range, which allows for avoiding frequency conflicts in the operating environment.

The key article may enable a person to generate a signal representing the digital key from a user interface device in communication with a computer by physical manipulation of the key article. Access to digital content via the computer may be unlocked in response to receiving the signal. In addition, a key may be represented by a pattern of unreadable errors in a computer-readable medium.

  • Patent number: 8122746
Abstract: An electromechanical locking mechanism provides a plug with a rekeyable primary lock mechanism such as a tumbler stack, an electromechanical operator such as a solenoid or a motor, and an electronic circuit having a memory, or an electronic memory and an electronic logic stage, controlling activitiation and operation of the electromechanical operator, contained entirely within the plug. Insertion of a blade of a key that is properly profiled and bitted to correctly displace the primary lock assembly relative to a cylinder encasing the plug, and application by the key of electrical power, or of electrical power and a correct data signal, to the electronic circuit, will cause activation of the electrical operator and repositioning of a distal member of the operator relative to the cylinder, and thereby enable torque manually applied to the blade of the key to rotate the plug within the cylinder.

Abstract: Some of the inventive concepts described herein include a data key having a computer readable medium containing information indicative of a bitting pattern for a master key. The bitting pattern on the data key may be downloadable to a key cutting device to cut a duplicate key that has the same bitting pattern as the master key. In addition, a method of creating a data key is also provided herein. The method includes identifying a type of key; identifying a bitting pattern; and storing the type of key blank required and bitting pattern to be cut in the key blank on a computer readable medium.

Abstract: An electronic system and a method of controlling the same are provided. The electronic system has an electronic device and a remote controller. The electronic device has a storage unit for storing a first password. The remote controller is used to control the operations of the electronic device. When a switch module of the remote controller is pressed, the remote controller generates a power on signal. The power on signal has a power on command and a second password. When the first password and the second password are the same, the electronic device is permitted to complete a power on operation according to the power on command. Accordingly, the electronic system has an anti-theft function.

Abstract: An exemplary security system includes a credential holder having a credential database that contains specified secured area credential information indicating at least one secured access location between a specified secured area and a specified adjacent area where the credential information is valid for authorized access. An access control device at a selected position corresponding to the secured access location is configured to receive the credential information when the credential holder is near the access control device. A processor of the access control device has stored access control information including indications of the specified secured area, the specified adjacent area and the secured access location. The processor autonomously determines that access to the specified secured area will be granted when the received credential information corresponds to the stored indications.

Abstract: A power management circuit decreases power consumption in an electronic door lock. The power management circuit includes an ON/OFF circuit, a load switch circuit and a electronic door lock circuit. The ON/OFF circuit generates an initial enable signal in response to a detected keycard that places the load switch circuit in an enabled state. When enabled, the load switch circuit provides dc power to the electronic door lock circuit that allows the electronic door lock circuit to receive identification input from the detected keycard and determine whether an output should be generated to actuate the door lock mechanism. Having completed the keycard detection operation, the electronic door lock circuit generates a self turn-off signal that is provided as feedback to the ON/OFF circuit to disable the load switch circuit.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, when sending a transmission target main data 21, an authentication-tag generator unit 13 generates an authentication tag 23 by using a main data 21 and a key data 22 stored in a key-data storage unit 12. A transmitter/receiver unit 14 adds the authentication tag 23 to the main data 32 sends as a transmission data. When receiving the received data 24a, the transmitter/receiver unit 14 divides the received data into a main data 21a and an authentication tag 23a. The authentication-tag generator unit 13 generates an authentication tag 23b for comparison. A received-data authentication unit 15 determines whether or not those the received authentication tag 23a and the authentication tag for comparison 23b match with each other. A different key data is used every time upon the authentication-tag generation and use time of each key data during a set period is restricted.

Abstract: An access control system and method for controlling access to secured areas includes a plurality of local readers connected to corresponding local control devices for reading portable access devices. A system reader reads the portable access devices, and a system control device is electrically connected to the local control devices. The system control device controls access to a common secure area using the system reader by validating the portable access devices using one of the local control devices. The system control device locally stores information from the portable access device and the associated local control device which may include validation or authentication data received from the associated local control device, so that repeat validation of the portable access device can be communicated from the associated local control device.

Abstract: Physical access systems and methods securely grant physical access to restricted areas in high-volume applications. An electronic device, such as a smartphone, stores a digitally signed physical access rights file. An individual uses this rights file to gain access to a restricted area only after self-authenticating to the device. A physical access control system receives the rights file, validates it, and determines whether to permit passage through a physical barrier. The determination may be made by a physical barrier system, or by a remote access control headend. An access control gateway, which may be an access control headend, may either unlock the physical barrier system when the electronic device is near the physical barrier, or it may transmit an authorization code to the electronic device and the physical barrier system, whereby passage is only permitted if the barrier system subsequently receives the authorization code from the electronic device using near field communications.
