Abstract: In an example embodiment, a system for creating a display from multiple projectors receives as an input a source pixel derived from an image to be displayed. The system generates a scalar-adjusted pixel by applying a scalar for an adjustment range to each channel value in the source pixel, where the scalar depends on whether the source pixel is gray or color. The system modifies each channel value in the scalar-adjusted pixel according to a luminance adjustment curve for a projector, where the luminance adjustment curve depends on whether the source pixel is gray or color. The system generates the luminance adjustment curve from captured calibration images by: (1) creating an interpolated response curve; and (2) generating and inverting a median difference curve based on the interpolated response curve for the projector and the interpolated response curves for the other projectors in the system.

Abstract: There is provided a color conversion method. The method includes: a black correction step of converting the first black corresponding to the first color data having a tone value of 0 to the second black corresponding to the second color data having a tone value of 0 so that when the first black corresponding to the first color data having a tone value other than 0 is converted to a value smaller than a quantization threshold of tone values 0 and 1 of the second color data, a conversion destination becomes greater than or equal to the quantization threshold; a recording agent limit quantity calculating step of setting an upper limit of the sum of tone values for each pixel of the second color data with respect to a predetermined print medium; and a chromatic color correcting step of converting the second chromatic color so that the second color data after conversion in the black correction step does not exceed the upper limit.

Abstract: When each value of luminance signals of three primary colors in the primary video signal is less than the output lower limit value, in short, when the gradation level is negative, the negative gradation level of the present primary color is, in accordance with its magnitude, in other words, in accordance with the absolute value of the negative gradation level, replaced with positive gradation levels of other two primary colors. Therefore, in accordance with A VIDEO SIGNAL CONVERTER of this invention, even when the primary video signal includes a signal value having a negative gradation level, in short, even when one or more of each signal value of RGB is below the output lower limit value, a color according to the combination of those gradation levels (a combination of each level of primary colors (RGB)) can be reproduced (displayed) by a display means.

Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device, a color correction table generation device, a display device, an image processing method, a color correction table generation method, a color adjustment method of a display device, and an image processing program capable of color matching to preferred colors of which excessive emphasis in chroma is suppressed. There are provided a chroma limit setting section for setting a chroma limit based on a optimal color, and a color correction table generation section for generating a color correction table by making a correspondence between an input color and an output color having chroma no greater than a chroma limit. The color correction table is stored in a color correction table storage section. The color correction execution section executes color correction along the color correction table so that the projector outputs a color with chroma no greater than the chroma limit.

  • Patent number: 8045220
Abstract: In creating a color conversion table, search time for searching a point at which a color difference with a target color corresponding to a grid point is minimum can be reduced effectively. In a predetermined grid point constituting a second pre-color processing table, a post-RGB value of a target color of the grid point is determined by interpolation computation using a first pre-color processing table created beforehand. An interpolation operation using each grid point data of a plurality of grid points in the neighborhood in the table is executed, thus the post-RGB value of an object grid point is determined. Next, a neighboring region of the obtained post-RGB value is set, and a post-RGB value of most approximate to the target color in the neighboring region is determined as grid point data of the object grid point.
