Abstract: Described is an ornamental strand of glow-in-the-dark bulbs comprising a plurality of bulbs having a means for glowing in the dark and that are arranged along a strand. The strand of glow-in-the-dark lights resembles a traditional strand of lights, but does not require a power source or any electrical components. The bulbs glow in the dark by means of a phosphorescent material. The bulbs may be composed of a phosphorescent material, coated with a phosphorescent material, or filled with a phosphorescent material. Overall, the present invention provides an ornamental strand of lights for use in decorating a home, tree, or business that does not require the use of electricity.

Abstract: Gradient optics for even light distribution of LED light sources. In an aspect, an apparatus is provided for uniform distribution of light emitted from a light source. The apparatus includes a panel coupled to receive the light emitted from the light source, and gradient optics disposed on the panel, the gradient optics providing a matching transparency gradient that is aligned with the light source to evenly distribute the emitted light. Abstract: Discussed are a light guide plate and an apparatus and method for manufacturing the same. The light guide plate manufacturing apparatus includes a stage supporting a substrate for manufacturing the light guide plate, a screen disposed on the substrate supported by the stage, an applying part applying an etching ink onto the screen, and a squeegee pressurizing the screen with the etching ink applied thereon to form a pattern corresponding to a screen pattern in the substrate. The screen pattern corresponding to the pattern to be formed in the substrate is formed in the screen. The etching ink is used for etching the substrate to form the pattern in the substrate. The light guide plate can prevent loss of light due to the pattern, and enhance efficiency of light (emitted from a light source) supplied to a display panel.
Abstract: Disclosed is an optical sheet for use in liquid crystal displays, which is not easily damaged by external impact, thus facilitating handling thereof and decreasing defective rates, resulting in reduced production costs and increased production efficiency. A light-absorbing plug is in communication with the upper section, wherein the light emitted from the input surface is condensed and directed in a sideways direction relative to the optical axis of the entering light.
Abstract: Optical films are described comprising a color shifting film comprising a matte surface layer; and light control microstructured layer disposed proximate the color shifting film. The optical film may comprise a matte layer disposed on a major surface of the color shifting film and the light control micro structured layer disposed on the color shifting film at an interface that is free of adhesive. Alternatively, the optical film may comprise a film stack comprising a light control film having a light control microstructured layer, a color shifting film, and an adhesive layer between the light control film and color shifting film. In some embodiments, the matte layer comprises matte particles. In other embodiments, the matte layer comprises a plurality of microstructures and no greater than 50% of the microstructures comprise embedded matte particles. In some embodiments, the microstructures are substantially free of embedded matte particles.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pattern substrate structure for light emitting angle convergence and a light emitting diode device using the same. The pattern substrate structure has a plurality of enclosed geometric regions defined by at least three stripe-shaped parts on a substrate to provide the light reflection effect through the uneven surface of the substrate and thereby converge the light emitting angle of the light emitting diode element into 100˜110 degrees. Therefore, the illuminant efficiency of the light emitting diode device using the pattern substrate structure is substantially raised because of the improved directivity.
